At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

No.
In my 27 years I have seen no evidence to support a caring deity of any kind. If you said "Devil" I may have picked something different. I have met many.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

I agree.
No need for god then.
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

Actually, all I read was the title of the poll. Is there some some groundbreaking information that I missed in the post?
I don't believe in any gods.
But a goddess? Hell ya, nothing wrong with worshiping a body that just won't quit.

I actually wished there was something beyond this life. Why not? Aside from the religious nuts having less respect for the actual existance we DO have. Meaning: Religion is responsible for more death and suffering than anything else throughout ancient and modern history.
I need no "Heaven" and surely I don't need any external reward to aspire to help living creatures, especially those unable to help themselves.
I would however like enough time in existence to understand the Universe and much of its contents. Once I had that understanding at some unfathomable point, I would call it a day.
Living forever would render our very privileged chance at existence very meaningless. Not to mention at some point you'd want it no more.
Heaven and Hell are childlike constructs imo. Sad one needs to chase a reward to live without being a barbarian form of idiot. Oh wait.....that's exactly what those primitive beliefs inspire.
I'm very proud my mind is clear and bright enough to receive information from the greatest thinkers to have ever lived. From Scientists and Philosophers especially due to personal interests. But also many other disciplines as well.
Sad really that religious fools lack this incredible wealth of information. They can't learn from Descartes or Hume, Einstein or Hawking. I could list giants of our species endlessly that shared their knowledge for the betterment if all.
Instead these bafoons wish to restrict their knowledge to ancient desert roaming nomadic morons. Anything they encountered they couldn't ejaculate in they ate. They were far too damn primitive to understand bad meat yet they found a stick and created God. They explain a Universe as a "Firmament" completely devoid of any alternative explanations. Yet our world leaders take this useless tripe and try and create models for modern civilization with it!!! No wonder I'm in here complaining.

you might want to look at evidence that contradicts that. Then also explain if the universe always existed why is the universe going to a heat death i mean if its always forever it would be at a constant temperature.... not falling at all.

Again, " And I do not mean just our little corner with the billions of galaxies, I am including everything, even what we do not and cannot ever know."
Our little corner did not come from nothing and it is not going to disappear into nothing. Something had to be for the big bang to happen. Something had to trigger it. Our little corner is just what is after it was something else.
Just for starters:
In December 1900, he (Max Planck) presented his theoretical explanation involving quanta at a meeting of the Physikalische Gesellschaft in Berlin. In doing so, he had to reject his belief that the Second Law of Thermodynamics was an absolute law of nature.
And, there will always be gravity.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

I was not able to answer this question, because my answer is:
Yes
AND
No
How can anyone believe if he does not loose his religion time by time? How can anyone be atheist if he did not believe 'something' before to reject?
My problem is: who named "God" and why should we name or frame it, besides of the question whether he/she/it exists, has to exist, existed or will exist or even has to exist. ("ex + ist" is an contradiction in terminis also)?
I have both sides: As an intellectual scientist, there is no room for believing in God or something, but I get arrogant as hell at this side, over and over. I always had a childish believe and had a very strong death experience (not a nearly one, a true one) with things I can explain by a second non death experience some 10 years later for 95%, but that made me do an individiual promise towards others and myself (perhaps to something like 'God', i do not know and i do not have to know either - i instead of I is something 'i' like to write in respect to others), but i also read the Qor'an and am also 'islam' (= a true living being looking for his original nature, and as human being also a 'vicaris' that takes care of nature and others).
So yes, I do. No i did not/do not/will not.
Perhaps I am 'a' good father that feels more and more (while getting older and wiser) that he has to bring together people who think they do not believe with people who think they believe...

2. If you will not do it, i will.
3. I have never met a person who does not believe (in some...thing)
