RE: What are your answers?
Those questions looked loaded to me.

3. Why does it seem like thiests hate observed reality more than anyone, what do you think of observable reality?

4. Do any of you know thiests that have converted reason, did you feel swayed by their conversion?

5. Are you an thiest based on your research of many of the observable conditions of reality, or does your thiesm come from a personal experience where you feel that reality didn't behave as you would have liked?

6. Since thiests don't believe in observable reality and dislike when people force facts on them, why do they force their negative and hateful superstitions on reasonable people (and other apes) through mockery and verbal assault?

Thank you, in advance, for your responses! It would be great if you could respond to all the questions. I'm speaking to real thiests who respect my desire to understand the feelings behind thiesm. I do not intend to be disrespectful, if I am, please let me know what should be rephrased. Thanks again.

Rhythm

Thank you for your questions Rhythm. I will respond.
1. Science has proven many things to me that I deem acceptable and that have been beneficial for my health, but science cannot tell me the location of my "mind", my "spirit" or my "heart" no matter how many charts or examples of the brain they give, these things cannot be identified. This leads me to believe there are other things, unseen, that cannot be identified. Also, science doesn't care if I'm wounded, science doesn't offer me a change in thoughts, it offers me pills so that I can grow dependent on pharmaceuticals. I'd rather be dependent on God.

2. I don't hate science, but I do feel it's rather impersonal and cold at times, I also feel that sciene can be inconclusive in many areas, like the rapidly changing disease AIDS and many forms of cancer. I believe that organized facts, especially facts about the saving power of Jesus Christ can be helpful, so I don't hate those either.

3. Lol, observed reality. It's funny that you mention that, as a Christian I love reality because I see every day as a blessing from the Lord. I take pleasure in his invisble qualities, the earth, the animals, love and free will. I take great pleasure in knowing that the kingdom of God will be just as real as what I observe everyday.

4. A friend of mine did leave Christianity recently, she decided to follow the desires that she's been having for some time and become a man, which she's still working on. I had a lot of emotions about it, I wasn't sure if I should continue being her friend, but when I read my Bible I learned that Jesus never condemned people for their sin, he called to people and those that heard would come. So I do not condemn her, I am not swayed by her decision to believe what she believes either, instead I pray for her and I love her.

5. Actually I did take a moment to look into some other religions because I didn't want to be brainwashed. I found Mormonism evil because it said that black people were cursed and could only enter heaven as slaves. I found seventh day adventists legalistic and condemning at times. I found the God of Islam to be angry and indecisive about whether people could please him or not. I found the Catholics to be too caught up in rules, tradition and idolatry. I found the Jehovah's Witnesses to be exclusive and legalistic. As I read the Bible, for myself, the values that Jesus Christ taught, and the power and justice of the God in Job convinced me that this was God, that he was the one I was looking for. I wasn't looking for a special denomination of Christianity I was looking to follow Jesus Christ as described in the Bible. I set out a series of tests through prayer and when he answered it confirmed he was the one. My faith comes from observation of nature, "someone had to create this planet, and me, it's insulting to think I came from an ape" and from personal experience, "if you are real God, then please show me in this way..." I'm fully commited to Jesus because he showed himself to me in a personal way, just like the Bible said he would.

6. There are extremists that are verbally evil to people, someone told them they could treat people like dirt and it would be all right, I don't agree with disrespect like that. I personally do not use mockery or hatred to speak to people about God. It is my intention to ensure that when people deny Christ, they do it with knowledge of the promises of the Bible, because some people reject him without doing any research of their own. I don't want anyone to miss out.

Quote:1. Are athiests just wounded people, upset that God hasn't shown himself to them in a way they deem acceptable? Meaning, if he suddenly appeared you would believe?

No, I would not believe. How could I tell the difference between God and an unimaginably advanced member of an alien species that was experimenting on me? I certainly know which one would be more plausible.

Quote:2. Do atheists hate God or do they hate organized religion in general?

I don't hate God in exactly the same way that I don't hate Vishnu, because they simply do not exist. However, I am certainly not a huge fan of organised religion for all the obvious reasons.

Quote:3. Why does it seem like athiests hate Jesus more than anyone, what do you think of Jesus?

I don't hate Jesus, even assuming that he did exist. Why is it that so many Christians seem to ignore his core teachings such as 'Judge not' and 'Turn the other cheek'?

Quote:4. Do any of you know athiests that have converted to another religion, did you feel swayed by their conversion?

No, never.

Quote:5. Are you an athiest based on your research of many of the top religions, or does your athiesm come from a personal experience where you feel that God didn't show up like he should have?

Neither. Firstly, the premise of your question assumes that we need religion and that the only reason to be an atheist is to either reject religion or to be unhappy with God. How about being an atheist because as a child, you were not brainwashed or indoctrinated with superstitious nonsense and when you asked questions you were given sensible answers that allowed you to think for yourself? Then, when you are exposed to religious thought and logic you are mature enough to not simply believe everything that these very strange adults are telling you and to ask questions. Usually questions that that they cannot answer with any degree of satisfaction and questions that seem to annoy them. This is why I lasted only two days in Sunday school, not because I was rude or disruptive but simply because unlike the other little sheep there I did not swallow all those ridiculous stories and I asked questions.

Quote:6. Since athiests don't believe in God and dislike when people force God on them, why do they force their negative and hateful opinions on Christians (and other religions) through mockery and verbal assault?

Maybe because it's about time that the worm turned.

How is the Christian God better than the other religons? He condemns people for lack of faith.
If I die and god is real, im so screwed.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Considering I don't believe in him, I don't hold it against him for not showing up, and if I did see him, I'd check myself back into the mental hospital.

Quote:2. Do athiests hate God or do they hate organized religion in general?

I hate the concept of the Christian god, but not the entity himself because he does not exist. I also hat organized religion.

Quote:3. Why does it seem like athiests hate Jesus more than anyone, what do you think of Jesus?

I hate what Jesus symbolizes, which is the religion of Christianity. Other than that, I only hate the character of Jesus when he steers away from the 'love thy neighbor' message.

Quote:4. Do any of you know athiests that have converted to another religion, did you feel swayed by their conversion?

None whatsoever.

Quote:5. Are you an athiest based on your research of many of the top religions, or does your athiesm come from a personal experience where you feel that God didn't show up like he should have?

None of the above.

Quote:6. Since athiests don't believe in God and dislike when people force God on them, why do they force their negative and hateful opinions on Christians (and other religions) through mockery and verbal assault?

I try not to, but occasionally I'll throw in a good jab to other atheists about the silly things people will believe. Most atheists are hostile because your god is everywhere and it gets on our nerves.
