What are your answers?
RE: What are your answers?
I'm a minority now, that's what I'm talkin about. I want reparations.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Clearly we've been remiss in demanding the perks associated with our minority status.

No. I, personally, simply don't believe in a god. I hold no hatred of any god, but I do hate people who justify atrocities via their religion. If he were to appear, I would have to believe. But I wouldn't worship him, I just don't see a need to feed any ego on his part if he was ruler of the universe.

2. Do athiests hate God or do they hate organized religion in general?

Neither. I hate people who justify atrocities with religion, as I previously stated, but I don't hate organized religion in general.

3. Why does it seem like athiests hate Jesus more than anyone, what do you think of Jesus?

Luke 12:51
Sums up Jesus for me, no offence.

4. Do any of you know athiests that have converted to another religion, did you feel swayed by their conversion?

No.

5. Are you an athiest based on your research of many of the top religions, or does your athiesm come from a personal experience where you feel that God didn't show up like he should have?

Neither. I just believe science is correct.

6. Since athiests don't believe in God and dislike when people force God on them, why do they force their negative and hateful opinions on Christians (and other religions) through mockery and verbal assault?

You get people like that in any group. That is inevitable.

You have a bit of a skewed view on atheists, but at least you were nice, thanks for that. There will be atheists, and simply because there are, doesn't mean they hate your religion, or that they dislike you. Some will, of course, and that is just silly, but the majority are actually nice people.

I like your responses, clean and calm. I think you have a firm grasp on Jesus, he definitely came to divide, either people stand for him or against him. I understand my views of atheists are skewed as I rarely spend time with them, I'm new to communicating and being respectful of their ways, so I'm going to make mistakes. When I wrote these questions I was just mentioning what I was thinking from reading several threads...what things seemed like, from an elementary view of the atheist thought-life. I simply asked to know, only a few decided to respond in a civil manner. I've been a believer for so long, it's difficult to see the truth as atheists do, and vice versa. Thank you for understanding that and for answering the questions.

Atheists don't hate God. They can't hate god, because they don't believe in a God. You can't hate something you don't think exists.

To hell with being respectable salty. If you have some evidence that you feel suggests their position is incorrect, have at it. A concept can either stand up to criticism or it can't.

salty visited yesterday, but seems to have gone all quiet on that whole evolution thing since we told her to become better-read. Still hasn't responded to things well over a week old despite promising to do so. Could it be that dear salty is experiencing some doubts?

Hello boys. I've been here but I've been chatting in the off topic section. I thought I made it clear that you two have a ban on the supernatural and no level of evidence will satisfy your desire to disprove me, therefore I have no response for the flood, creation and exodus. I believe they all happened and the Bible is historical and divine.

Do you guys play words with friends? I have it on my smart phone. I know Rhythm would destroy me, but that means I'll improve! Let me know if you want to play me.

I do.

Organised religion is a flesh eating disease on the body of humanity, They perpetuate one of the greatest confidence tricks in human history:that human beings need interpreters and specialists to explain and mediate between them and their gods.Angry

Nobody here is trying to disprove anything. We are asking that you prove your claims, no more. Why is that so threatening to you?

That you are able to believe that in the face of evidence, suggests willful ignorance, cognitive dissonance (George Orwell called it 'doublethink') or quite severe intellectual impairment (stupidity). My money is on cognitive dissonance, although I also suspect you may not be the brightest bulb in the theatre.

Quote:Cognitive dissonance is a discomfort caused by holding conflicting ideas simultaneously. The theory of cognitive dissonance proposes that people have a motivational drive to reduce dissonance. They do this by changing their attitudes, beliefs, and actions.[2] Dissonance is also reduced by justifying, blaming, and denying. The phrase was coined by Leon Festinger in his 1956 book When Prophecy Fails, which chronicled the followers of a UFO cult as reality clashed with their fervent beliefs.[3][4] It is one of the most influential and extensively studied theories in social psychology. A closely related term, cognitive disequilibrium, was coined by Jean Piaget to refer to the experience of a discrepancy between something new and something already known or believed.

RE: What are your answers?
So what happened to your apparent desire to read up on evolution and old Earth theory, salty? What happened to your claims to examine the evidence in an unbiased way? What happened to responding to the reading material we referred you to (at YOUR request)? It's not like we arrogantly walked into your house and insisted you read this stuff, you asked us to provide the literature, we did, and now you turn around and say 'I believe they happened because the Bible said so, fuck your so called 'evidence''. That is known as a circular argument.

It's very disappointing and I hope you can acknowledge how pathetic that is. You've also been dishonest by suggesting to us that you would be open to receiving evidence when clearly that is not the case. It's not very nice, lying to people salty, and I think your God would be very upset with you.
