Just seen a good programme on the BBC about what morals are, turns out they are a mixture of chemicals, DNA and environment.

The term "sociopath" becomes a useful tool used to exclude those who exemplify moral relativism when taken to its logical conclusion. Its interesting that those who use the term are eager to distance themselves from any association. They recognise that something is "wrong" with sociopaths yet cannot find a logical basis to explain why there is anything "wrong" other than social consequence arising from "sociopathic" behavior. The huge failing of moral relativism is its inability to say behavior "x" is just "wrong" regardless of subjective opinion.

Moral truth, is something which is beyond subjective opinion, not dependant upon social consequence, benefit or prevalent societal beliefs. For example rape, rape is simply "wrong" regardless of motive, intent or purpose. There is no rape that can be justified, it would be morally true to say that rape is "wrong"

What do you base this claim upon, that there is no justification for rape?

Suppose the human species disappeared and what's left are a man and a woman. The woman does not consent, but the man rapes her anyway, and gets pregnant. Repeatedly she refuses him, repeatedly he rapes her. She has so many offsprings from the rapings, but the offsprings go on perpetuating the human species.

Was rape wrong in that instance?
