On average, how many boxes of crackerjacks does one have to rifle through before finding such a certification?

Regarding your unicorn example, I actually believe you have shown the true difference here between atheism and a "lack of belief." I actually believe that unicorns do NOT exist on Gliese 581d. My justification for this is due to the fact that unicorns are mythical creatures and, therefore, do not exist anywhere. This is not a terribly important question though. I'm not so passionate about Unicornism that I go on other people's statuses to provide arguments on why they, too, should not believe in unicorns. Furthermore, I am not currently lobbying for Facebook to add "Unicornological Views" on the info page (just under Political Views), so that I might be able to proclaim that I'm "aUnicorn." The question just isn't that important. But make no mistake about it, I am "aUnicorn."

Now...I do appreciate his humor...but goddamn...can we portray irony any more clearly?

There is actually as much, if not more evidence that unicorns may have existed than his [G]od!

I'd just send it right back word for word, replacing unicorns with god, aunicornisn with atheism. Few other minor adjustments for coherence, shouldn't be difficult.

But they don't get it. Unicorns are every bit as relevant as [G]od.

I finally told him I was an "ancient astronaut/alien-seeding" theorist. That should keep him busy. And funny enough...that "idea" has as much, if not MORE archaeological evidence to back it up...and at least modern humans have reported contact...versus...the bible stuff.

I agree!!! That is the reason for my avatar. There is as much evidence "god" exists as unicorns exist so my "faith" in both is equal!

And WELCOME to another Bible belt friend! I'm in South Carolina and in a similar situation as you (the only Atheist in the state). Smile
