My take - I'm not crazy about the practice, especially when people have been irresponsible about birth control.
It's also not my choice to make for anyone else, nor is it my business to judge. Keep it legal.
I made an adoption plan for my fourth child. It was the second time I had gotten pregnant after my tubal ligation. I considered having an abortion, but my friends Kathy and Scott kept entering my mind. I met them through their son, who is my age. He called me one day asking me if I could get some pot for his parents, and so I did, I met them, and we became friends. She helped me out a lot while I was pregnant with my 3rd child, and had a young son the same age as my son who she conceived with a donor embryo. Her husband worked for Boeing and made mega bucks, but he got transferred to the Charleston office, so they moved just the day before baby 3 was born.
While she was here I watched her struggle to have one more baby. I didn't understand why after having 2 children in her early twenties, raising her sister's kid, and then having the youngest son in her early fourties, she would want another baby. I watched her get scammed by surrogates and lose thousands. I knew they were good people, atheists, liberals, and great parents so I called her and asked her if she would like to adopt my baby. If I would've given him up to strangers I would've had nothing but a gigantic book of Christians to consider as possible parents. I would have gotten an abortion then. At least now I know the morals and values he is getting are secular and logical. Now I get to drive my happy ass to Charleston and see him this weekend for the first time since he was 2 weeks old. So happy I could shit pink pickles. Here's the little guy, Kai, now: Living it up on Folly Beach! The reason I went into the pregnancy crisis branch of counseling is because I know what it feels like. Some women just NEED an abortion and they need someone who will hold their hand, support them, and most importantly- NOT JUDGE THEM. That's me. 42
That's great, Aleialoura. I'm adopted. My birth mother was 15, and she would have had an abortion had she found out she was pregnant earlier. A lot of anti-choice people don't understand how I can be pro-choice knowing that my birth mother wanted to abort me. I just don't take it personally. She was young, and if she had aborted me I would have been none the wiser.
That will never hold up in court...
They think you'd be in heaven counting down the days till your birth mother started sizzling.

One of them told me that I'd be in the arms of Jesus...creepy much?

I can pick a person's name out of a hat and come up with a person whose arms I'd rather be in!

Same here. Jesus doesn't make my cuddle list.

No sweat off his sack, you didn't make his cuddle list either. Clearly prefers the company of men.
