Look, I already know you guys aren't going to understand what I'm saying. If you can't understand the simple things in the scriptures there's no way you'll "get" the complex things which are only revealed through by the spirit.
The whole Bible is about Jesus Christ, cover to cover, he is represented right there in the garden of Eden, I can explain it to you but what's the point? It would be like trying to explain colors to a blind person.
The word of God always confused those who weren't part of the elect. Did not Jesus have 7,000 disciples at one time? yet when he stated "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you." people thought he was crazy and left simply because they couldn't understand what he was saying.
He wasn't speaking literally, (just like the fruit in the garden wasn't literal fruit) If Jesus is the word of God made flesh as the bible states, then he was talking about partaking of the word of God, spiritual food.
'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'
Your spirit requires food just like the body, and without the word of God, you cannot have eternal life.
Yet the Catholic church takes the eating of the flesh and blood of Christ to be literal, hence why they have Transubstantiation.

If he wanted to be slightly more merciful, he could have simply given everyone on earth instant heart attacks or some other form of quick death. But noooo...gotta make them spend their last mortal moments in sheer abject terror as they watch their lives and families be destroyed in front of them, shortly before succumbing to a slow death by drowning themselves. You know - as a loving god would.
Quote:Without going into a long explanation, i''l just say this.
man was no longer what God had originally made them, they were hybrids. If you think Eve literally ate fruit, you are way off. Eve commited adultey with the serpent who was NOT a snake, he was cursed and became a snake for what he had done.
As a result of the serpent and Eve's union Cain was born. Cain is never mentioned in the genealogy of Adam showing that he is not Adams son.
The descendants of Adam (sons of God) began mixing with the descendants of Cain (daughter of man) producing hybrids which resulted in giants.
Quote:
Genesis 6
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.[hide]

Many people misinterpret the "sons of God" to mean angels, but the Bible clearly states that Adam was a son of God, making his descendants also Sons of God.
Quote:
Luke 3:38
Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
God just decided to wipe the slate clean and start over, even then he gave people 120 years to repent.
Also the reasons it had to be water was because that signifies rebirth.
water, blood and spirit
What happens when a child is born? the water breaks, the child is covered in blood, then he takes his first breath.
How does is one born into the kingdom of God? Baptized, the blood of Jesus covers his sin, then he receives the holy spirit.
The book of revelation says that there is to be a new earth, the scriptures cannot be broken. The earth must receive it's new birth like everything else.
The flood was the earth being baptized, then Jesus spilled his blood on it, then it will be purged by fire (fire represents the holy spirit, as when the tongues of fire hanging over the peoples heads when they received the holy spirit at Pentecost)
Quote:2 Peter 3:12
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Quote:Malachi 4:1
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
are evil for the righteous;1 For it is said, Take heed to thyself that thou speak not to Jacob either good or evil.2 Now, as regards evil, one can perfectly well understand [the meaning]3 but why not good? From here then it may be inferred that the favour of the wicked is evil for the righteous.
There,4 one can well see the reason,5 since he6 might possibly mention to him the name of his idol;7 what evil, however, could be involved here?8 — That of infusing her with sensual lust. For R. Johanan stated: When the serpent copulated with Eve,9 he infused her10 with lust. The lust of the Israelites who stood at Mount Sinai,11 came to an end, the lust of the idolaters who did not stand at Mount Sinai did not come to an end."

If God operated like the U.S. Department of Defense, multiple deadlines would have passed with outrageous cost overruns, Noah's stock portfolio would have soared, and it would have been found that at the time of the ark's actual delivery that there was no provision for fresh water on board and the hull lacked proper reinforcement.
So naturally Noah would be awarded the next contract.

The Noah story was simply a war story told using metaphors. It follows the basic rule of believe and obey without exception. If Noah had failed in some detail God would have smacked him upside the head.

Perhaps you were unaware that "huggy" in Hebrew means roughly "humorless twat". Of course, there aren't vowels, so the pronunciation is only approximate. Some pronounce it with an appropriately phlegmy sound.
Don't get it twisted, I don't put any credence in the story whatsoever. Mythology or war allegory, it's got enough plot holes to sink an ark. The best that can be said of it is that it makes more sense than the plot of Evan Almighty. But then, most things do.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
