The "prophet" has heard this before.  It was a very easy prophesy to fulfill since what I said is the truth.  He left christianity because of his experiences with people who claimed to be christians.  He even used some real christian concepts to call them out about their behavior.

Yes, the Scotsman fallacy applies to lots of other things too. It can apply to anything that doesn't have a precise definition in the first place.

He's may not be speaking about your interpretation of it, but was a Christian if he believed the basic tenets of the faith.

If I had quarter for every time I heard some smug Christian claim other Christians "don't believe it right" I'd be posting this from my Octobering home upstate. It would be smashing, darling.

And everyone assumes they're the only true ones. In the case of christianity, at least 40.000 different versions. Speaking of a competitive market.
