You really expect a reply?
You got at least one by the late and unlamented Randy Carson, who presented an opinion piece where some dork rambled about the radical left running the USA. So, in the eyes of christian radicals, settling for less than a christian Saudi Arabia or Iran, is christian persecution.

I find myself thinking this time and again...
Christians claim, above everything else, to have some amazingly powerful being on their side. A being so powerful as to make all us humans put together seem like nothing. And yet, we're being really unfair and persecuting them. We've kicked God out of schools! Wow, I didn't know we had such power! It seems if God is on anyone's side, it's with the secularists. If God needs secular laws to line up with his wishes in order to do anything, he is an irrelevancy. This doesn't apply of course to those reasonable Christians who are also secularists and don't want to impose their beliefs on everyone else. I thank every one of those. Perhaps the OP should have been titled "American Christian Persecution". That's a punch line. And, yes, U.S. Christians who whine about persecution deserve the mockery their drama queen bullshit invites.
That said, I don't find real persecution of Christians in other countries funny at all. It's a human rights abuse, and I am unalterably opposed to it. I'm an American who takes the 1st Amendment very seriously and wish that people overseas all had at least those minimal rights. A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love. Just off the top of my head - not being allowed to congregate and worship freely, not being allowed to wear religious symbols like crosses, etc, not being allowed to speak about your faith to others, being denied rights given to the general population because you are christian, being put in jail for practicing your faith. I think it's pretty common knowledge what persecution of christians is. As far as christian persecution toward others, there is an equivalent version of it. It's just not as prevalent these days as it has been in other times. Fucker... 1. You are allow to congregate 2. You are allowed to worship freely However you as a adult/teacher may not lead prayer or worship in schools there is a time and place for everything prayer and religion is not one of them. 3. You are free to wear your murder crosses 4. You are allowed to speak about your faith to others look at number 2 and look at the exception i wrote. Also not all people are interested in religion these days because 11% of the population and growing doesn't believe in god and more are leaving religion. 5. Christians have rights like every other jerk off. It's when you christians want more rights like the case with Kim Davis denying marriage certificates. Then the other case in Kentucky where you would spend a year in jail for not recognizing that there is a god so fuck off christians have rights and what rights they have they find a way to abuse it. 6. You aren't put in jail for practicing your faith most christians are in jail for A. Violence B. Drugs C. Sexual Crimes D. ETC so no you aren't put in jail for faith that's fucking stupid. Kent Hovind got put in jail for not paying taxes not faith. THERE IS NO CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION FUCKER

I think it's pretty common knowledge what persecution of christians is. First of all, don't be a baby and call me names. We're not in grade school - at least I'm not. He asked someone to define persecution against christians and that's what I did. It's happening around the world in places like China, North Korea, Africa and the Middle East. It's also occurring in some institutions, such as colleges, here in the USA, where the administrators and most professors are secular humanists and therefore have the power to suppress christian ideas and practices. Are you really trying to say that persecution against christians is non-existent?
Christians are persecuted in other countries that don't grant inalienable rights like this country does (and frankly should practice more). As for universities, there is little room for philisophical comcepts like religion outside those types of classes. Education is about evidence. Unless you can provide concrete evidence, and christians can't, you have nothing to discuss. That's what makes the movie "god's not dead" so funny. The "atheist" is a teacher in the one class where you'd expect to debate about all sorts of religions.
You don't seem to be able to look in the mirror. Look at Saudi Arabia. See how they treat everyone who isn't a muslim? That's what we're trying to prevent christians from doing in this country. We've come a long way from the Salem witch trials of yore, but we haven't convinced everyone yet that the USA should not be a christian theocracy.

I actually assumed that the OP meant "American" Christian persecution. I may be wrong. As far as schools and colleges go, if they are secular, public institutions, they fall under the protection of separation of church and state. This has been the case since 1962. It is only reasonable and respectful to acknowledge that children and young people from many different religious backgrounds attend these institutions. One religion cannot be promoted above any other by any member of the staff or faculty - that is clearly disrespectful to those who are not members of that religion. Students are allowed to lead their own prayers and groups if they wish. If a parent wants a child to attend a religious school, there are thousands of them.

God loves to put his followers to the test. So an all powerful being doesn't rule out persecution. |
