I like how you used the bible in that first part good look

Yes, even the authors of the bible were clearly aware they were ripping off older stories when they wrote that phrase.

But you can't name an earlier source of that phrase..?

Do I need to?  Do we have to find an earlier quote of every single thing ever written in the bible to realize it is a ripoff of earlier ideas and stories, really?

Anyway, can we stop hijacking this thread and go back to talking about Star Wars?  I realize both the bible and Star Wars are fticion, so you may think it's still on topic, but let's not derails the OP any further, it is impolite.

Anikan being born to a virgin mother, him betraying the Jedi (heaven) and thus being cast to hell (Mustafar) and many other things. In the Clone Wars, Darth Maul's brother even encountered a talking snake that deceived him while claiming to be leading him to something he was seeking. There's a lot of that shit in Star Wars.

Ok so you're a smart man I see that..now I ask you..do you think that Anakin's transformation has any veracity or is it just a rehashing of another fairytale?? I tend to lean on the side of thinking Anakin was Satan incarnate..

It's hard to say. George said in interviews that Anikan "made a deal with the devil" but in the movie he kind of IS the devil. It's really hard to say because Palpatine is the mastermind. It'd be like of the biblical devil was being manipulated by a higher evil to do his deeds and lead the rebellion.

Yes, just like Neo has some obvious similarities to jesus. But neither The Matrix nor Star wars are direct retelling of the bible. As you pointed out earler, there are elements of eastern religion, modern politics, historical wars, etc. It isn't just a modern retelling of the bible, as the linked article claims.

Yes I agree, it's not a retelling. Though, it is borrowing certain aspects from the bible and these other things and being told in a seemingly original manner.

No it isn't, it's a parallel to the rise of Nazi Germany, and other dictatorships:

"Star Wars creator George Lucas sought to make the Galactic Empire aesthetically and thematically similar to Nazi Germany and to appear to be fascist. Like Nazi Germany, the Galactic Empire is a dictatorship based on rigid control of society that dissolved a previous democracy and is led by an all-powerful supreme ruler. The Empire, like the Nazis, desires the creation of totalitarian order and utilizes excessive force and violence to achieve their ends. The name of the Empire's main soldiers, the Stormtroopers, is somewhat similar to the name given to Hitler's Sturmabteilung (SA) paramilitary bodyguards. The visual appearance of Darth Vader in his all-black uniform combined with his devout obedience to the Emperor has allusion to the black-uniformed Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS). The uniforms of Imperial military officers also bear resemblance to uniforms used in Nazi Germany as well as nineteenth-century Germany's ulans (mounted lancers)—who wore a tunic, riding breeches, and boots like the Empire's officers wear—as well as the Imperial officers' cap resembling the field caps historically worn by German and Austrian troops. In addition to Nazi Germany, there was also at least one portion of the Galactic Empire that was based on the Soviet Union, which is the various military personnel and TIE Fighters are flying in formation as Palpatine arrives on the Death Star in Return of the Jedi. In the commentary track for the film's DVD release, Lucas admitted that the ceremony for the Emperor's arrival was inspired by May Day military parades in the Soviet Union.

"Palpatine's rise to power, and transforming a democracy into a dictatorship has been related to those of Julius Caesar, Augustus, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Adolf Hitler."

Which GL has himself admitted to on I believe numerous occasions. This is all the more obvious with the prequels when you see Anakin as an aspiring young boy/man with talent, much like Hitler's youth.

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

Mate, is there any bullshit you call bullshit, or do you just open up and swallow!

If you're over 14, you should be embarrassed. Seriously.
