Thanks. I'm considering telling my parents I'm atheist and telling them don't bother me about it because i believe what I want nd you believe what you want. But I doubt it will happen the way I hope it will.

Don't do it!  Not unless you're able to live independently and/or are eager to undergo whatever reconditioning regimen your brother went through.

Yeah, until you're living on your own your best bet is to just fake it. Because, from the sound of it, your mother's side of the family won't tolerate dissent, and you'll have a much, much harder time of it.

Priority #1 at this point: survival.

Best of luck with your OCD and your current struggles.  You sound like you've got a good head on your shoulders.  You probably can't quiet the doubts if they are a part of your OCD, but you can equip yourself to deal with them effectively by reading books about atheism like The God Delusion.  Just a suggestion.

I have TGD ordered along with some other of Dawkins books.
-EDIT- Just checked the tracking number, it's coming in today!

Yeah, it's unfortunate that there's no better option for one living under the custody of militantly religious parents other than to play along. There should be something which sensible people can do about this insidiously cruel form of child abuse...maybe some day, but in order for that to happen we'll first have to get the majority of atheists on board, who treat anti-theism with the same shitty stick as they do religion. They are atheists who never really had religion foisted on them as children, which allows them only a minimal excuse for not considering just how abusive it is to children by the doctrine of "sin" alone. They should ask you whether you consider the teaching and enforcement of religion on children to be harmful or abusive. This will happen invariably wherever we have a society which plays "be and let be" with any organized groups which teaches ridiculous ideas which, despite being so ridiculous and offensively nasty, have proven to be dishonest and cruel enough to survive for thousands of years in the minds of subsequent generations.

Faith is virus, and a very nasty one, and should not be treated by any sane people as benign!

How dare you risk ruining young minds, by attempting to suck them into your crippling conspiracy paranoia.
It's fucking sickening.

Carry that bullshit somewhere else, scooby.

Written by a political dissident. So far mainly about Marx and how in his youth was a Christian, who eventually turned against God and all organized religion, and how it needed to be eliminated to and how atheism was necessary to implement his goal of a communist world. It's no coincidence all communist dictatorships abolish religion, because an understanding of God threatens of the power monopoly of the state, as there can be no higher authority than the government. It's interesting reading Marx's writings on what led him to turn atheist, and eventually the links of the inner party into satanism.

One of the rituals of the Satanist church is the back mass, which Satanist priests recite at midnight. Black candles are put in the candlesticks upside down. The priest is dressed in his ornate robes, but with the lining outside. He says all things prescribed in the prayer book, butr eads from the end toward the beginning. The holy names of God, Jesus, and Mary are read inversely. A crucifix is fastened upside down or trampled upon. The body of a naked woman serves as an altar. A consecrated wafer stolen from a church is inscribed with the name Satan and is used for a mock communion. During the black mass a Bible is burned. All those present promise to commit the seven deadly sins, as enumerated in Catholic catechisms, and never to do any good. An orgy follows.

Another interesting book is, Satan Price of this world, written about 50 years ago by a Commander in the Canadian Navy who was involved in the hidden hand of the world revolutionary movement. It's more about the luciferian ideology, which believe it many in the upper echelons in the power structure follow.

We get the idea. You're trying to poison the well. Seriously, you can stop.

It's a tired, dishonest theist tactic and you don't need to embarress yourself further.
