I don't believe the Biblical Christ existed but I think perhaps there might have been someone called Jesus, or something similar, or many similar messianic real people, who inspired the writers of the Bible to write the story of Jesus.

P.S. You quoted me and said "I can see you're Muslim sir", I am not Muslim.

Sorry for the confusion, I had you mixed up with someone else.  Looking at the computer screen too long.

ig - I did for ages.  Had dem "written by the hand o' GAWD hisself, puh-raise Juh-HEEzus" rose-colored glasses welded to my face.  Then glory hallelujah - life went all to shit.  And I studied me some real science.  And dem rose-colored glasses started just-a slippin' off.  And I started seeing things in those verses that made me wonder why I ever thought the book was in any way special.  It's a miracle!  Praise the FSM, I have SEEN THE LIGHT!!!!  I'm FREE!!!

Why do you refuse to commit to your chosen denomination, instead choosing to hide behind "sola scriptura?" To the best of my knowledge, every protestant denomination holds to that. It's the dividing point between the catholic church and all the protestant denominations.

Isn't that exactly what He did through Jesus ministry and resurrection?  I would say that brought legitimacy to the Abrahamic religion above any and all others.  As far as the different sects and branches of Christianity, labeling them is something we have done to ourselves.  I would also note there is another force at work in the world that is attempting to undermine Christ's work on earth.  What better way than by sowing strife and division.  I don't see today's churches and the institutions they have become modeled in the ministry and example of Christ.  We have commercialized it in my opinion distorting it from what it was.

I am not refusing to commit or hiding behind anything.  Sir, what would you have me say?  Again, I have never been a member of a church.  I have attended services at a dozen or so denominations.  I have been to the Vatican and mass there.  I have probably attended more Protestant services than all others but I cannot align myself with any of the denominations as it is my perception they all stand on doctrines that are in direct opposition to the bible.  I hold many dissenting views on Catholicism and would characterize Mormons, Catholics, JW's all as apostate.  Does this help?

You're here for your part in the great commission? Care to expand on that please?

Is the old testament the word of your god and is it ( it's directions) to be followed exactly as written?

Can you provide any direct evidence/proof that your god exists?
If you are familiar with the bible you know that Christians are commanded to take Jesus' message to the world.  This does not appeal to me on from a selfish perspective, there are many things I would prefer to be doing.  I chose this forum because it seemed a good place to start, and I chose this medium because I am shy,  did not want to move to Africa as a missionary or attempt to preach on the street.

Yes, I consider the Old Testament to be the word of the Christian God.  No.

No.  I would ask that if we as humans did not have a consciousness, then what is the point of all that we see around us in the universe.  If we aren’t here to observe it, what’s it here for?

Re. old testament: Are any parts to be followed? Which parts are not to be followed?

Re. proof: OK, you have no proof. What does the rest of what you said have to do with proof? More species than humans have a conscience but not a god(s).
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

Apparently not since there are thousands of branches of jesusism.  One would expect a "god" to do a better job.

I also asked myself this question with regard to the Levitical laws found in the Old Testament, I think there are over 600 of them.  Many of which would be considered dated, and in some cases absurd by todays standards.  The straight answer is I think there are many parts that would not be relevant or observed today.  I view the Old Testament partly as a historical document and partly as instructions for the Hebrew people.  A lot of the practices were rendered obsolete, done away with, or changed with the new covenant.

It's not about correctness, it's that your statements are not consistent with the scripture's internal logic.
