I prefer the blade, doesn't need reloading. I have a "small" collection of swords and knives. Some are kept in surprising places here.

Exactly. I'm not wanting to risk them getting close to me which is why I prefer a gun. The machete and knife are just back ups.

Oddly...I just lock my doors and assume I'm at a low risk of home invasion. I don't own any weapons. My kids have a few slingshots

I like to keep knives too. It's basically illegal for me to harm an intruder, but I don't care. Anyone who breaks into my house is in for a world of hurt. Got a baseball bat lying around here somewhere as well.

Exactly. The aim (if you'll pardon the pun) is to not have to pull the trigger at all.
