I recall back when I was working at the defense contractor a trainee and I went down to review some new equipment for human factors/ergonomics concerns the company was developing. No actual hardware yet, but we had some plastic casting mockups to look at.
I don't know why, but they had used white plastic, and I noted how easy it was to look inside and see details compared to the gray metal of the actual hardware that would be produced. I asked if there was a way to make the finished castings white on the inside as assembly and repair operations would be vastly easier.
At some point I notice my trainee. He mouth was agape. I was aware he considered the entire ergonomics thing just a busy work indulgence of the company, the sort of activity the company can point to to impress customers to buy our shit. But not the sort of activity that could ever cough up a useful turd.
I never forgot that, just doing my job and I impressed someone.
My brain ain't a brick all the time, even at the defense contractor, despite my supervisors doubts.
Anyhow, the relevance here is, IQ without a little confirming experience once in a while doesn't do you any good.
Related note:
was listening to someone piss and moan about one of the volunteers at a place I help out at, and him being the kind of guy that really wants the rest of us to go along with his ideas.
Well, that guy is usually right about most everything he applies himself too, so why don't we want to do it his way ?? Better than following Duck Tape Dave, Do it Over Ed, or shit for brains Dale, who are the alternatives.
Shit people, this ain't hard to figure out. And I can guaranty, if somebody gets POd at some point and leaves, it won't be Dave, Ed, or Dale . . .

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
