Game Over for Trump

There's a big difference between a philanderer and a man who gets kicks from sexually assaulting women. And Clinton not being able to keep it in his pants is nowhere near as bad as what Trump, by his own admission, does.

Not to mention that it happened when he was already POTUS.

And people are acting like this is surprising when people have been trying to tell the country that this is the kind of person Trump is. He is a poor excuse for a human being. This is why I actually stop being friends with Trump supporters. This isn't a difference in opinions this is someone supporting a horrible man that is sexist and racist and they think it is ok that he leads our country... I have no time in my life for people like that. Now at least the country is starting to open their eyes.

It'll be a little longer than that. The Clinton campaign will keep this one going for a while, and the debate this week will put it on national display. This is a big one. This is video of Trump himself saying extremely vile things. This will be there for the next month.

I give you:

Bella Morte's posting history.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Me too. I'm hoping they can't actually replace him at this late a date. I'm thinking you would go through court battles in every state and there just isn't time. The Republicans have nothing to lose at this point though. As one Republican strategist put it, "I think the wheels just fell off."

It's well past the time for any putative replacement to be put on ballots in 36 states by well before today. Therefore if Trump were pushed, his name would still be on the ballot paper, and the RNC would probably have to try and get their voters to put his replacement in as a write in candidate. Nine states prohibit write in candidates, 34 more require that the candidate register as one usually by declaration, with the dates for declaration in some states likely to have already passed.

Also the Republicans own rule 9 (which allows for replacements) over whether Trump could be pushed if he doesn't want to go, so it's probably too late to rules lawyer.

Plus you've the problem of all the campaign ads being already booked, Republican donors likely not wanting to dig into their pockets again and wholesale changes of literature, ground messages and GOTV work means that if the Republicans were willing to change at this stage it would be an unholy mess for them, and probably mean a massive split in the party before the election.

This has really driven a wedge between my sister and myself.  She has had a tough life, never finished high school and had kids early - several.  She has received public assistance but has also worked hard.  Owned and ran a couple restaurants, salting loads of cash away off while paying starvation wages.  She has become a bigot and misanthrope generally.  She is depressed, suffers from stress and prefers alternative medicine.  Feeling bad for her I've tried to connect with her around our mutual appreciation for gardening.  But politically she just listens to Rush L. and such like.

I finally had to detach from her Facebook feed.  So awful.  Makes it really hard to enjoy what limited connection we had knowing how vile her thoughts are.  Don't know what comes next for us but I sure don't look forward to seeing her.

There are no poll results from after this video emerged. Poll results usually take a few days to come out. Since the debate two weeks ago, he's been on a downward trend in both national and state polls (the state polls are more important):

I think yesterday he had a slight uptick in some state polls, but that was likely due to some small recovery from the past few weeks, and not related to his comments.

Probably true. However I am still expecting the polls to go up for him given past performance.

RE: Game Over for Trump
FNC is reporting a committee in the RNC has been placed on standby, and their function is to select a new candidate for the presidency.

FNC pundit seems to think there is no way with the existing rules for the party to delete Trump, but should he bail, the process to jinn up a name to replace him with has started.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
