twits, we are surrounded by twits . . .

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Nah, women just aren't any good. We need white bald men doing everything important.

If these women you mentioned have written any books on a level with Climbing Mount Improbable, Demon Haunted World or God is Not Great, I gotta read them.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

Because they run their mouths and people bought into their narratives. Did they move a single stone running their mouths, or did they just add to their bank accounts? That would be up for debate. I guess there are quite a few women in that camp. But maybe they're wiser, maybe they don't need the limelights. Apart from every one of the above being wrong when outside their very own field of expertise. Ehrman, a theologian, tries his hands at history, and sometimes he got even the basics wrong. Same goes for Sagan. Can't say much on Hitchens and Dawkins. I never read a single line or listened to a single word by Hitchens and I only heard and read from Dawkins what's inside his very own field of expertise, where he is one of the best. |
