What makes your faith true?

You believe in the Christian God, and the Resurrection, 6 day creation, Original Sin and that world is 600 years old?

But how do you know "god" makes it true? Is it like GC said that you know this because of a deep, heartfelt “feeling,” for lack of a better word?
I presume you believe that your actions on Earth are a good indicator of whether you’ll go to heaven or hell, which you believe are real, physical places?

Satan asks us to discard our faith, which admittedly is very incomplete and certainly lends itself to criticism.  But that's not the right way to do it.  The way to replace an incorrect or partially correct belief is to replace it with something more true, not less.  The atheists and hedonists question religious faith, and then profess that the only reasonable alternatives are their own belief systems, which are actually much more questionable and have far worse track records.  One has only to look at the French revolution, Communist Russia or China, or the Japanese Empire to know that socialism, rationalism, and atheism haven't done well by us.

Many of their criticisms are valid of course, just not the solution that they offer.

None of those things are to do with atheism. Atheism is just a lack of belief in deities.

No, it's not rational to hold onto an irrational answer just because a better one hasn't appeared. It's more rational and honest to say "I don't know", if you don't know, rather than clinging to made-up answers and pretending you know.

My apologies, I didn't actually answer your question Smile

The reason I believe in my faith is that I asked God in prayer if it was true, and He answered me.  This experience is evidence to me that Mormonism is true.  Of course, my evidence isn't something I can share with anybody else, but I definitely advocate the method.  Try it and find out!  Be advised though that an answer is only likely to come if you're ready to follow it.

Best!

He answered you? Do you hear voices in your head?

PS: If you're referring to systems of government, then yes, it is probably a good idea to have a new system ready before getting rid of the old one.

However, secular-ish democracy-ish style governments have been working just fine for some time now. There's no need for socieites governed by books written thousands of years ago anymore.

What belief system is it you think we must have on account of our being unpersuaded that 'gods' exist?

So both yours and GCs gods are real by this criteria of proof. We're in the polytheistic era again. How are you sure it's your god and not GCs version that answered your prayer?

How does GC know that the god voice he hears isn't the Mormon version?

So what would you say to someone who wanted to believe and asked these same questions, but got nothing in return?

Seriously, how does this not bother people?
