The sad future of the democratic party

Hillary Clinton wasn't a Republican in Democrat Clothing.  Fuck, she's probably slightly to the left of Obama.  She knew how to get shit done.  She wasn't the best at running for election, but once in the job--she would have done a damn fine job.  Of course we'll never get to fucking see that becuase of the fucking whiners who are okay with Donald Trump shitting all over the constitution so long as he's against TPP (Which Hillary also came out against.  FUNNY ENOUGH a lot of those same people said they'd have gladly voted for Biden over Hillary.  Biden was in support of TPP, so gee I wonder what the difference between the two was...)   It doesn't matter that Trump TIME AND AGAIN in the campaign said he would deregulate, deregulate, deregulate.  He's a centrist democrat!  Cause you know, liberals are all for deregulation.  OH WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE.  No they aren't.

"But But Hillary's a warhawk!"

Give me a fucking break.  Both candidates were warhawks.  Democrats who couldn't support Hillary because she wasn't ideologically pure basically cut off everybody's noses to spite their faces.

"EMAILS!"

Who really gives a fuck?  Her email server wasn't nearly as big of an issue as all the shit Trump is going to do.  It's small beans.  Sure, it's not great that she did it.  It's actually pretty shitty--but it's still less shitty than Trump.

"We don't want the lesser of two evils!"

So you want the greater one.  Got it.  Good to know in the future.
Don't misunderstand me, I would have rather have had Clinton over any GOP candidate (I voted for her) but she was a flawed candidate. I never bought any of the right-wing myths that had been repeated about her over the years, and I never was a hater either. But she was a dated candidate in the sense that she was running in the wrong decade -- as opposed to Obama whom inspired people. Like it or not, Clinton was not inspiring to her base, and Trump was to his, and that's the difference in elections.

In a way, I'm glad Trump won the election. Now Americans will learn the hard way what the right-wing has become, and see just how deranged they are. It's just a shame the rest of us have to suffer with them.

You have to change campaign finance laws in order to ensure that this kind of thing doesn't happen to new blood. In fact, I think throwing out the crop of young Dems only increases the probability that lobbyists get their nails dug in deeper. In order to get re-elected you have to have a shit ton of money. In order to have a shit ton of money as a young Senator/Congressman, you have to play the same game as your opponent. When you are a first term senator with no voting history, you are prime meat.

Unless you are as firmly entrenched as someone like Bernie, you simply have no other option. I still blame Cory Booker, but I like what he stands for and the message he gives. I won't jump ship and write the guy off over one bill considering the climate in Washington.

This is the issue. The Republicans are playing a numbers game, and Democratic voters are playing an ideology game. That is what is going to kill the Democratic party. We have so many half informed voters like you, dyresand, who will blow up the entire gambit over one issue and then complain when the Republicans take total control and do what they've been promising the whole time. So while Republican voters are content to vote in a fucking monster when it also means they get all the deregulation and defunding of social programs and Re-Christification of anything they can, Democratic voters will bitch about email servers and war hawking and not show up to vote for the local politicians and Congressional elections because the Democrats have a couple of people who are icky, too. Meanwhile the guy who is actually in office is threatening political/military retaliation on 3 continents and sewing diplomatic discord everywhere, destabilizing everything he touches. But Cory Booker is in the pocket of Big Pharma, man!
This! Omg, so much this. Spot.freaking.on.

aka uppity faggots/niggers/cunts etc. I guess it's good that they came up with an acronym for it....... because it sounds fucking terrible when I say it.....go figure.......
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Before this election I heard over and over again that this would be the year the Republican party collapsed. Now it's vice versa. Democrats used to be the peace party, then they nominated a war hawk who kept insulting the worlds other nuclear super power during the campaign. I agree with dyresand, they need to clean house. The average age of the Democratic party leadership is 75 years old. You can't be the party of young people and minorities when your party leadership is a bunch of old white people.
