Do you mean that they are opposing peasants and country laborers unions, beating down anyone who doesn't do what their fascist boss says, or that they are wearing black shirts?
Or is it the violence which you think makes the comparison an apt one? Cuz I can help with that one....not in the sense that I can get you to agree with it, lol..but probably in the sense that I can get you to understand it, and how it flows from our culture and political beliefs as americans.

They're rebels without a clue. When enough of them go to jail and/or see some serious defense and get the shit kicked out of them, they'll stop.

Probably. Jailing and beating dissidents and rebels has been historically successful for fascist states.

Defending who? Some nut who thinks bike lock attacks on randos is going to be a successful weapon of insurgency? Hardly.
I'm just not interested in defending fascists from their enemies, however idiotic those enemies seem, to me. If you and yours want to be fascists, go ahead. Some people are probably going to throw rocks at you. We'll jail those people, for now...but if you ross the line -too- far into fascism too quickly, rocks and bike locks will, historicaly, be the least of your worries.

Kind of a rock and a hardplace, since we -have- to shield them from the consequences of their facism if anything about our form of government is going to survive however long their trend lasts.
This is how a group of degenerates subverts the basic decency of the system and effectively leverages it towards it's own self destruction.....and it seems like the fascists get that, since they're constantly babbling about how the mooslims are dooin eet. Yes, we have to protect the people who don't believe in our governments system of protecting people. In many cases, though, I like to think that we do it more for the benefit of our own ideals than we do it for them.

This group is nothing new - they've been around for awhile, including at the Seattle WTO protests in 1999 so it's doubtful they're stopping anytime soon. They're affiliated with the Black Bloc - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_bloc
I've been paying attention because they've been involved in mayhem here in northern California in protests against right wing and white supremacist groups, including a violent protest here in Sacramento last June.
When I've taken my daughter to protests, I've been careful to check beforehand on who might attend so we don't get caught up in any bloody violence. I'm all for protesting and having a voice but I won't abide violence or threats by anyone, especially not around my kid.

Has not stopped the Neo Nazi Alt Right thugs Beta cheerleads for. So what makes him think there opposition will be any less resolute . And as Tres points out the Black Bloc have been around a long time. The only thing that will happen if the Alt Right horde gets violent is the same in kind . But I doubt it will come to that the Alt right don't have the balls they are all posturing .

I don't mean that they'll go away completely, rather that they'll back off from the violence and go back to burning garbage and maybe breaking a window here and there.
