My theory personally is that at some point between apes and the human form as it is now (very very close but not quite), God granted "human souls" to one male and one female (Adam and Eve), in the form of intelligence to recognize morality.

I guess scientifically you could explain that as the first neuron/brain connection, or whatever it would be, which made the difference between an innocent animal and a human who is able to understand right from wrong, thus attaining moral free will.

There's evidence primitive proto-humans buried their dead. So there was more going on upstairs before we became Homo Sapiens. Unless big daddy gave Neanderthal man souls.

Oh, and Free Will is a crock. I think I explained that in a number of threads.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

You cannot explain it any way other than as the narrative in genesis presents it - or you're running afoul of the quoted catechism..yet again.  Not that this helps, since the acceptence of a literal adam and eve - also a requirement by the same quoted catechism is roundly demonstrated to have been false by reference to the "synthesis" part of modern synthesis...you know....

....evolution without the asterisks?

As the church has made explicitly clear, what you are now taking liberties to describe as allegory must be, by a faithful catholic, confessed to be a primal event in a real history - not a fable referring to Some Other Thing™. That's understandable, since the entirety of the catholic faith is built upon it.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Pabsta, if you cannot accept the reality of evolution -- something which I have actually witnessed in a differentiated cell culture grown by a microbiologist of my acquaintance -- then stop using the things that evolution makes possible. No more state-of-the-art antibiotics for you!

By doing so it is not a conflict with Catholicism, though it's still ridiculous.

Well then, the Catholic church would be wrong on the Adam and Eve claim.

How can evolution be ridiculous, when it has been observed, in the wild and in the lab?

READ the articles on creationresearch.org! If you really hold a true position, it should not make you fear to read articles from the opposition in the least. Yet I see people in this forum saying they refuse to read the articles. We all know why that is - because when the articles totally destroy the theory of evolution, *POOF*, you have no choice but to believe in God. It's the typical cowardly atheist response.

Sure, but the transition between innocence and moral understanding had to happen at some point. I'm not saying it wasn't a slow process though, but I think there was an instance where something finally "clicked", just enough to where morality could be understood.

This is all my own personal guess of course.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Huh? The whole thing about a poe is that we are not ever sure...

But you can kind of look at the evidence and make an educated guess. Sure, we may never know, but at least we didn't jump to a conclusion without doing our due diligence.

Do you really think you are the first creatard to show up with such "evidence?"  You are not news.  You are regurgitating the same silly shit that others have done before.

Quote:There are a large variety of people who claim the mantle "creation scientists". Almost all of them come from the fundamentalist Protestant wing of Christianity, although a few belong to such denominations as the Roman Catholic Church. One thing they all share in common is a belief in an inerrant Bible, one that is literally correct in all its original writings on all subjects, including its description of the Creation, Adam and Eve, and Noah's Flood.
