Considering I was actually providing an example of a movement arising from protests. I was not discussing the flaws of the Founding Fathers or the rise of the Confederacy, but rather, the importance of protest to American history.
Surely the point is comprehensible to you.
Not a great deal is not comprehensible to Beta as this thread has shown . Too much Scott walker he will rot ones brain .
And there is a difference between not standing for a song and and starting a war of succession. Trumptards need to get a sense of fucking perspective.

Employees don't have a constitutional right to free speech and continued employment. Do some reading:

If their employers decide they need to be fired, that's their choice. The trumpster implying they should, even calling for it, is a tacit attempt to quash their protest which does bring the constitution into it. Too bad he doesn't understand the document he swore to uphold.

Don't be so sure. He's missed enough other blatantly obvious points.

Indeed. Violent rallies protecting the "free speech" right to maintain statues of traitors are okay ... but the silent protest which discommodes no one, why, that's unacceptable!

Actually, employees do have the right to free speech. It's just that they can get into trouble by their employers for exercising that right.
I have every right to tell a customer that she's being an annoying twat, but it doesn't mean I get to keep my job for having exercised my right of free speech.

They have the right to free speech .And thou not illegal it is draconian to say people should be fired for exercising it in a peaceful way.

Because those violent protesters are on their side . And the players expose and offend their card board patriotism .
Oh and as for the idiotic counter . The president can talk about more then one thing . Considering the hundred more important issues the US is facing. Trumps bullying of a sports league about a guy who made a peaceful statement months before he became president should not even be in the top 100. And should not be the pinnacle of his outrage .

Maybe it's a little funny, but taking the knee was supposed to show respect for American values while still being significant protest. They chose to kneel instead of sit.

Tebow kneels before a football game and the right loses their fucking minds if anyone mocks him for it.

It's called selective bias.
Kind of like when some husbands have selective hearing around their wives.
In this sports scenario, the bias is selective depending on how they personally want to approach it at any given time.
