When was the last time you had to endure someone smoking inside an elevator? or in a regular supermarket?
Also, have you not kept up to date with the new gadgets, the e-cigs, that have been helping tons of people stop smoking and have no second-hand smoke related issues, as the "smoke" is only water vapor?

What about cars?... it seems there are some 35,000 deaths from car accidents every year in the US and who knows how many lives destroyed due to crippling ... and even more unknown, how many more due to the contribution of driving to an unhealthy lifestyle.

No one is the least concerned about those... NO ONE!!

But choking... yeah... Billions of $US are poured into choking prevention every year, while those other fields go penniless.
About the same amount that goes into weapons purchases and "defense".

But for healthcare?.... nah, brah, those losers can die!

I don't think you get it...

When I stated "second hand smoke isn't on anyone's list of concerns.", i'm being somewhat facetious and speaking of people here in this thread who are feigning concern about choking to death... When is the last time any of you thought about second hand smoke? 73 deaths a year out of 24 million is something that concerns you guys? really?

If humans are so badly designed, then why are we here and the apex of all living creatures on the planet?

Nice dodge.

The point is not how many people choke to death. The point is the fact choking is possible at all is because God is a shitty designer.

Bah, next you'll resort to rambling about Denmark again.

He kudo'd the two links that addressed his question.  Most of the posts have been unrelated, and just the knee jerk intelligent design is stoopid posts.

The original issue is interesting with or without intelligent design even being a factor, but it's above this forums paygrade.  I linked rather than answered the question, because I don't completely understand the answer, at least not enough to paraphrase.

Hardly, the inane concept of irreducible complexity has been discussed at length and in depth on these boards by various members.  Hell, it's been officially litigated, lol. It's not a lofty subject above anyone's paygrade.

"This is all so complicated, I don't know how it could have happened!" - thankfully, others do....but it wouldn't matter if they didn't,  because "god" doesn't follow from that admission of ignorance.

You really are a sick fuck, Huggy.  How dare you belittle the experience of the innumerable people who have lost family members in such a manner, as well as the people themselves who spent their last moments gasping for breath with pieces of food lodged in their windpipes.

If this is what your religion has brought you to -- snarking about a legitimate medical issue to try to score a point against those mean old atheists -- then you can bloody well keep it.

Hack job, if you ask me.

That's naive. My eldest was born with reflux issues from birth and was a high SIDS risk, so no, infants do not necessarily have it "down pat".

^^^^Excellent example of fake outrage.

Alright Asteja, since you consider the trachea and esophagus connecting at the throat to be a terrible design, how would you improve it?

Wrong question.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Lol, Huggy is victim-blaming people who choke to death.  That's a new one from the Theist camp.

Your god is one shitty designer.

Also from your website

Quote:At least one child dies from choking on food every five days in the U.S.

That works out to about 73 kids (under the age of 5)per year in the U.S. (and seeing how I specified INFANTS, the number gets even smaller), which is hardly an epidemic. 41,000 people die every year from second hand smoke and second hand smoke isn't on anyone's list of concerns.

A lot of diseases can be traced back to GMO's and hormones put in our food.

Sources please.  Preferably reputable ones.  😏
