Suppose you have some grown up kids.
You gave them life so to speak and as a father you hope that they will follow your teaching but you can not stop them if they do bad things once they are grown up.
You did your very best, unfortunately they refuse to follow your teachings.
Is that your fault?
Why should be your fault?
That is why we can not blame God for the evils that go on all the time.
Surely the free will is open to options.
This is also part and parcel of the creation.
Evolution of the consciousness and the opposite that I call DEvolution are part and parcel of this universal game.
God doesn't like to see people doing bad things but at the end everything is sorted out through the karma law and people after banging the head so many times on the wall they finally will learn and develop enough consciousness to reach the goal of life.
I've heard this excuse too many times.
Please stop comparing an omnipotent God to a non-omnipotent father.
It's soooo simple. God has the power to control his creation, a non-omnipotent non-omniscient father may not.
For a child his father can be omnipotent as God is regarded omnipotent to us humans.
A father wouldn't give the keys of his car to his child.
One day when the child become adult however he will.
The same apply to our relation with God.
One day when human beings will reach a mental-spiritual parallelism with God then the keys (so to speak) to human emancipation will be given to them.
The comparison stand perfectly.
As you would teach your kids how to live in a way that you know better also God teach his children how to live through the karma law.

So there are degrees of omnipotence? Either you are or are not. Quit making up definitions.

Wrong once again Harry.
A student that study to become a doctor will not be a doctor UNTIL he she will go through the various stages of learning yet he-she has reached a certain degree of competence in that field.
The same apply to a human being that aim to reach God.
Everything goes in degrees.
That doesn't mean that you will not reach the very top and claim the price.

Ever since I was little, I have wondered, with the message of "this world is horrible, sin is everywhere, it's just a test and if we pass we'll get to go to heaven for eternity" -
why there aren't more xtian suicides. Oh, but you have to pass the test first, suicide is a sin. But I have met so many fundies who are focused ONLY on being holy enough
to get to heaven, and I have a lot of personal experience with people who will do anything . . . deny science, deny education, destroy their own children . . . to be HOLY ENOUGH.
Apparently the babies and toddlers got a pass from the "test". Apparently getting murdered by a violent, angry gunman gives you a pass. (And a nasty atheist murderer at that!)
Now, most of the xtians I know are kind, educated folks. But I had a moment where I pictured a lineup of ignorant, holier-than-thou, racist, misogynistic, homophobic creationist
funditards (think Westboro) with a gunman doing them the ultimate glorious favor and sending them right to their god.
I wouldn't, really, I wouldn't. But geez, so many of these folks pray to die . . . or pray for the Rapture -- reminds me of all of those great cartoons after one of the predicted Rapture dates passed --
aw dammit what do you mean they're still here?? Man we were planning a party . . .
And that led Andrea Yates and others to where, exactly?

As a seed has got all the omnipotence of the tree that gave life to it also we humans and all it exist as well have got all the omnipotence of God so as a seed will turn into a tree also a human will turn into God.
Rather than study is more a question to realize that there is no difference between our consciousness and God consciousness.
This realization come through yoga practices.

Don't worry about that, I get about four bottles of good booze a month from friends.
