Not to mention two people going on a side mission that didn't need to happen, which leads to the enemy figuring out the escape pods are stealthed. 1. She didn't tell him because he didn't need to know . This is a military structure.
2. The side mission was shown to give the viewer an impression of the wider galaxy during this time . I argue it was central the the theme of the movie (hope )
He might not have absolutely needed to know it, but some assurance would have prevented a mutiny, and the need to go on the side mission. Fewer people would have died, at the very least. She could have at least said "I have a plan. Don't worry. It's going to be fine". Even when the mutiny is happening, and she's being held at gunpoint, she says jack all about the real plan.

The Star Trek universe is a much better place to live in.
I can go live in a cave here if I need to. Why go far far away to live like a mole?

Quote:The First Order destroys a solar system and destroys the Republic fleet?
That's plot hole how ?
Quote:Maybe the command centres and much of the structure, but the majority of the galaxy wide Republic's fleet?
Most of their fleet was centered near their core worlds . Remember the new republic was anti military thus probably didn't have a galactic spanning fleet like the empire .
Quote:And starkiller base. Is it capable of hyperspace travel or is it designed to be used only a couple of times in a binary star system?
That's not a plot hole that's simply an unknown . But either makes sense . If the weapons sole purpose was to wipe out the heavily protected Republic core worlds then be reproposed like battering ram . Or maybe it does have hyperdrive and could be reused .
Quote:Later novels and books may have answered those questions, but I haven't read them.
The first question yup. The New Republic was anti military thus kept it's fleets near the core worlds as not to give the impression The New Republic was trying to become the Empire . That's the whole reason Leia formed the resistance as she thought this was a bad idea .

No he didn't. And he should have trusted her .She did not owe him any explanation. It was Poe's own mistrust and impatience that lead to that .

I don't know the Star Trek universe can be pretty scary . The Borg , Mist Vampires, All powerful super entities who constantly seem to wanna mess with us.

Yeah, I'm talking about the regular folk. The normal mums and dads not mentioned in the universe.
Hell, if theists can extrapolate all sorts of things from the bible, why can't I make a shitload of assumptions too!
PS, which universe would have nicer toilets? bidets? I haven't seen any janitors in Star wars so far? Filthy bastards!
