Homosexuality no longer a sin

Homosexuality no longer a sin
According to Pope Francis.

I guess CL has to obey her Divine Father Figure.

Quote:In a private dialogue, Pope Francis is understood to have told Juan Carlos Cruz, a key whistleblower in Chile’s most infamous case of clerical sex abuse, that he should not pay attention to what it says in the Bible regarding homosexuals because “God loves gay people and it is fine to be homosexual.”

Speaking to Spanish newspaper, Cruz said: “He [the Pope] told me, ‘Juan Carlos, that you are gay does not matter.
“God made you like this and loves you like this and I don’t care.
“The pope loves you like this. You have to be happy with who you are.

According to The Sun, the Pope’s words signal a much more open and inclusive approach by the often restrictive faith – a move which will likely upset many conservative Catholics.

Yes but whenever they say this, if you dive into it deeper, they still think the "act" of homosexuality (i.e. having a relationship / sex) is a sin.

It's all part of the "love the sinner, hate the sin" bullshit mantra.

As far as I can tell, the Pope has just told a gay person that it's fine "to be gay", i.e. "it's fine to feel sexual attraction to the same sex". I wonder what he thinks about actually following that attraction, because accepting gay people and accepting gay relationships are different things.

Never mind handing the moral decision to some old steer in a dress. What the pope says has  no impact on my life.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

The RCC is one nosy enterprise. I'm really glad their influence is on the wane.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

The Dalai Lama has a similar hat trick to this too. When he got called out for being against homosexuality he responded that it's only wrong if you are a Buddhist trying to be a good buddhist. Uhhhh, well when you are also saying being a good Buddhist is the way to go, put that together.

Buddhists are naturally confusing.

Or even thinking lustful thoughts about someone the same gender as you. The rcc's "love the sinner, hate the sin" formula is essentially "it's ok to be gay, provided you deny yourself everything to do with being gay".

It's easier if you can sit under a tree long enough. Say 40,000 years.

SteveII was telling me in another life that the core message of Christianity was not simply defined by what its believers believe and thus the core message of Christianity would indeed not change.

All I can say to that is, "Uh huh."

From the article:

Quote:The claim by Pope Francis directly contradicts Catholic and Biblical teaching regarding homosexuality. The Catholic Church teaches that gay sex – and all sex outside of heterosexual marriage – is a sin.

Not from the article. But no doubt equally alarming for the College of Cardinals:

Quote:Pope Francis has become the first pope to publicly denounce a “culture of abuse and cover-up” in the Catholic church, saying he was ashamed that neither he nor church leaders in Chile truly ever listened to victims of the country’s sexual abuse scandal.

Pope Frankie's no mug, not for nothing did he choose for his official residence a small apartment with limited access.

It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.
