RE: Islam - the Peaceful Religion: Explained

Christianity is a peaceful religion:
1. Jesus recommends that we gouge out our eyes and cut off our hands to avoid committing sin.
2. Jesus says that disobedient children should be killed.
3. Peter suggested that anyone who did not accept Christ should be killed (not some nebulous, namby-pamby 'death of the soul', but actually, physically killed).
4. It's a good idea to torture people so they can obtain a better resurrection.
Most religions are insanely violent, in thought, deed, or both. It puzzles me that people so often single out Islam.

What about WW1 and WW2 because of the tribal competition? It didn't involve religion for the most part, wish for wealth caused it.

What about it? I don't think the claim is being made that all violence stems from religion.

Because a rabid dog muzzled is for the time being a less urgent threat than one that is not, even if the muzzled dog is bigger and more cunning?
Because it behoofs one to deal with a impending violent crime before an ongoing thought crime?

I didn't know as much as I should about OT rules before posting here. Old testament rules sounds familiar to Nazi Germany. The death sentence for apostasy and constant and intense propaganda of afterlife punishment from the really young age sounds like hell on earth. It's like a really long mental torture.
And the amazing part is that there are still a lot of Arabs who like Sharia Law.

OT rules? The NT endorses them too. Christianity makes a huge palaver about a "New Covenant", but the NT insists that the OT rules still apply, every single one of the 613 mitzvot. And besides, in the middle of the mitzvah are the ten commandments. Chuck out the OT and goodbye Ten Commandments. Aha, the apologist will say, our boy jesus endorsed those ten in the NT, checkmate. Actually he didnt. According to the bible he endorsed exactly 5 of them. Your homework is to find out which 5 he endorsed specifically and which 5 he left out. Then tell us why.

I prefer the modern buddy jesus set of religious strictures..which is comprised of precisely one law. Don't be a dick.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Christians are just generally better at ignoring their holy texts than Muslims at the moment.
