Peterson's 12 Rules For Life, have you heard of this?

Admittedly true, especially considering that Marx’s ideas were relevant mostly to an Industrial Age Europe, and Russia and China weren’t really Industrial yet, and I think I read somewhere that Marx himself said that if a pre-industrial society tried to put his ideas into practice, things would be disastrous. And so, Marxism-Leninism and Maoism changed the origina, doctrine to suit their own political climate.

But the fact remains that those nations that were willing to evolve, consider Marx’s ideas on their own merits, and adopt the most reasonable policies, were able to inoculate themselves from the more out-there ideas and avert a full-blown Communist revolution.

I'm generally talking about the more draconian idea's that are often charged at Marxism which honestly were  never his idea's too begin with  .But i agree with your statements on both the nations tried Marxism on and the adoption of some socalist idea's by western nations .

We have some leftist troublemakers of our own in England. They utterly waste people's time with irrelevant drivel. They are complaining about "cultural appropriation" with regard to absolutely stupid things. They are themselves actually being racist by imposing stereotypes which you're then not allowed to "copy".

They basically get offended on behalf of a whole group of people, who would most likely not give the slightest shit if you asked them.

Which is a really unfortunate use of a fairly heinous subject, lol.

A legitimate problem with the PC left (along with, for instance, reversing the prejudices of rape culture not by abandoning them, but swapping out who benefits from what prejudices, hi, Asia Argento), and another one that almost certainly won't be fixed by just doubling down and making a big show of returning to the old ways just to spite them.

As I mentioned last night, judging each idea on its own merits, incorporating the good ideas and rejecting the bad ones is probably the best option. And, of course, as Robvalue seems to have implied, these sort of PC leftists tend to not have that much political power (outside of the social media hiveminds, anyway) and, in real-world terms, are more of a nuisance than a threat.

Youtube politics are..almost as a rule, clickbait.  It's irritating that youtubers are constantly handing ammo to shitwads..but even more irritating that confronted with this fact, shitwads response is, in effect

"nuh uh, that blue haired fucker on youtube is the real face of the pc sjw leftist antifa supersoldiers - what you say is void"

Pox on both their houses.

I don't know about that. They are getting laws changed-- how much more political power should a group expect to have?

That comes down to the No True Scotsman, doesn't it?  It sounds as though any obviously-left person who says obviously-left ideas that you can't personally endorse isn't the "real face of the pc sjw."

But the fact is that there as many manipulative and annoying people with left-leaning politics as right-- not because of the nature of those ideologies, but because of the nature of people.  It doesn't really matter whether they are PC Left ™-- they are using the ideology of the left in extreme, unpleasant and unproductive ways.

Peterson always talks about the Leftist nutjobs as "Extremist," by which he means not to include the left, in general, in his objections.

Are we sure it’s not just the more mainstream parties (read: Democrats) taking the more reasonable policies and getting the laws to change accordingly, as I’ve been talking about?

How much more power can they have? Actually Taking over the Democratic Party’s elected officials would be a start.
