Well, the link I posted actually shows that the gun-related deaths of children and adolescents increased (pretty dramatically) over a three year period, which is certainly relevant.

As for the CDC study, from 1993 onward, they were not allowed to use government funds to conduct or publish research regarding gun violence.

I agree we need better gun laws. But for those people on here who seem to know so much about all of this, what EXACTLY do you propose?

1.  A 30 day waiting period to purchase any type of firearm.

2.  Better background checks, including interviews with family, neighbours, and co-workers (if applicable).

3.  Licensing of all gun holders.

4.  Initial safety training with recertification every two years.

5.  Annual fees to keep license active.

6.  Suspension of license for varying length of time, depending on infraction.

7.  Eliminate the gun show/private sales loophole.

That'll do to go on with.

No guns for civilians. Guns are tools for putting holes through people's bodies. The average Joe on the street shouldn't have the power to be judge and jury over another's life in the course of a few seconds.
