The bigger question is what does this have to do with atheism? If his point is that we can't disprove God because we don't know her then he is partially right because there are and will be invented many gods. But when it comes to Allah then that God is disproved because, among other things, heaven is not separated in spheres where you can arrive on a flying donkey and walk around; there are no jinns, Noah's flood couldn't have happened, Adam didn't exist, and so on.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

His reason is he's trying to prove we don't have to use arguments or evidence to believe things. We should instead make absurd logical leaps to come to the conclusion of his deity (like the design argument). He's also trying to undermine real methods for obtaining actual knowledge by declaring them insufficient so we must turn to his worthless fairytales to figure things out. Truly pathetic.

"A fire-breathing dragon lives in my garage!"

"Then show me that dragon! I want to see it to believe it."

**We arrive at my garage. You look inside and see a ladder, empty paint cans, an old tricycle - but no dragon.

"Where's the dragon?"

"It's there but it is invisible."

"Then we should spread flour on the floor of the garage to capture the dragon's footprints."

"It won't help because this dragon flies in the air."

"Then why don't we feel the fire from his breath?"

"Because it is cold fire."

"Then let's throw some paint around and make dragon visible."

"Dragon flies really fast so it won't hit him."

And so on.

Not actually wanting to come across the wrong way...

Pretty sure a writer has to have a reasonably good grasp on reality to write believable fiction.

It's only haveing a good idea fo 'How' things work that you can use/bend/extrapolate such ideas off into realms unknown.

Great

RE: A very clever alien..
Sounds like the alien believes that something happened that didn't actually happen.

1. He believes his wife made dinner.
Is there any evidence that dinner was made ?

2. He believes one or both children ate his dinner.
If the dinner was never made, then they couldn't eat a dinner that doesn't exist.

Solution - Call the wife and ask if she made dinner.
If she did, hook the kids up to a truth machine and ask what happened to the dinner.

If they don't know, then make your own damn dinner.
And feed your kids as well.

The other issue is that an alien of such higher intelligence and capability wouldn't need dinner. Sunlight would be enough to provide all his or her nutritional needs.

Alternatively, no need for a wife or children. Their life could be lived virtually.
Insanity - Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result

Fuck me. Am I smart or what. Bring on the QM.

Good attempt. Unfortunately, the alien kids have some high tech gastrointestinal tract, they discharge their feces instantly. So, their father came too late.

Ahh, just like with Allah, you can make up qualifiers to thwart criticism as you go along. Very good analogy, Klorophyll!

It seems you're missing the point, folks. Just notice how no one simply screamed at me : the kids are the only beings around who could eat his dinner , then provide good reasons for that. Everyone just wanted some quick, down-to-earth solution to help the alien father, and got furious when I upgraded some of his kids' features. Not very patient problem solvers, after all!

In other words, atheists just want God to be like themselves, something they can see, touch, maybe even smell...
