I mean they stopped the ISIS terrorists and Saudi/Trump agents from ruining Biden's retreat.
That's the real victory: showing the whole world who the "real terrorists" were.
The Taliban assisted in the retreat because they need to demonstrate that they can actually run things. This will lead to foreign investment, which will provide money, which will enable the Taliban to mount further terrorist operations.

Isn't being "pragmatic" is decent and wise?
They put the obvious grudge aside to serve the bigger, better future for them.
America also retreated to "catch its breath" after the defeat and the wasting of 2 Trillion Dollars on the war.
From my perspective, it's the better move for the U.S to focus on the inside; there is a huge dangerous Zionist proxy sharping its teeth to chop the American Deep State. They mutated since the Capitol invasion in 2021.

No, pragmatism isn't necessarily decent and wise - the annexation of the Sudetenland was pragmatic.
I'd ask you to bear in mind that the bigger, better future for the Taliban almost certainly means a miserable future for everyone under their control.

As the formal definition from Oxford say:
Quote:pragmatism
- PHILOSOPHY
an approach that evaluates theories or beliefs in terms of the success of their practical application.
Evaluating theories and beliefs in terms of "success" is the wisest thing to do in life; the "attempts" and "trials" that don't lead to success are a failure; keep in mind that just like I warned America from following the path of its previous imperialist attempts, I warn the Taliban too from following the path of extremists like ISIS. So if the Taliban "turned to ISIS"; they will lose any support by most Muslims -just like ISIS did-; and the difference between the two is very very huge.
Respecting one's treaties is a wise thing.

As an extreme example, the Nazi death camps of WWII were a pragmatic application of Hitler’s belief that Europe should be free of Jews, homosexuals, dissidents, Gypsies and others, that their possessions (property, money, teeth, skin, hair, bones) should be taken from them and used to help support the Nazi war effort.
Do you consider gassing people en masse to be decent and wise?

Olb, why don't you like presidents who end wars?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Hitler ignored the historic evidence that shows that people who commit "mass murders and crimes" always lose and get defeated even if it's on the long run; being despised by the oppressed people's sympathetics & become despised and feared even by your closest people are two direct indications that Hitler's brain couldn't get that his actions will bring his doom.
I bet one of the causes for the defeat of his forces were his lieutenants becoming sick of him.

Gotta give him credit for getting us out of Vietnam, even though getting out was a clusterfuck too, he did the right thing by ending the war.

That wasn’t what I asked you, you question-dodging troglodyte. I’ll try again, and we’ll take it in small steps, so we don’t overtax your few working brain cells.
1. You claimed that that which is pragmatic is decent and wise.
2. Hitler’s goal was to destroy ‘European Jewry’.
3. To accomplish #2, the Nazi regime instituted a pragmatic programme of mass murder.
4. Do you think this genocide was decent and wise?

Sure, if he ended the war in Vietnam in the first months of his first term he would probably be a good guy and people would probably not dislike him, but he prolonged the war for many years.
