Christianity is a man-made thing systematically tailored and adjusted over two thousand years by very intelligent, cunning, unscrupulous, misanthropic people specifically to overwhelm critical thinking faculties of the hoi palloi with an vast and assiduously mustered arsenal of emotional and deceitful attacks, threats, hollow boasts, false promises and basest appeals launched from every direction and carefully tailored and refined to penetrate common cognitive weaknesses as determined through long and careful observation.
Such a purposed, unscrupulous and malevolent construct, with the vast arsenal of tools and weapons still largely at its disposal, and long accustomed to stopping at nothing in pursuit of its own aggrandizement and in defence of its Ill gotten prerogatives, will absolutely not be readily and peaceably relegated to the status of powerlessness.
But leprosy, scoliosis, blind, ................ no biblical issues. But epilepsy the bible got wrong.

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
For Christians, the Bible is no longer an infallible authority; instead, it is the individual believer, denomination, etc., who decides what is literal and that which is not. In other words, Christianity has gone from being objective to subjective.

"is better than anything you might think." I have long thought that Christianity would be much less poisonous and evil without the concept of biblical inerrancy. It's a kind of decent religion without all that. But alas.... RE: Christianity is heading for a full allegorization

The faithful honestly don't mean it to be, it just is that way.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

So if christianity were to make christianity appreciably less noxious, it must renounce it’s own necessity by renouncing the necessity of christ.
I've never taken the Bible to be anything other than an allegory. To that end, it suits its purpose rather well.
