Market forces - as proven through history - would drive up the price of existing guns to ridiculous levels. The next thing would be the manufacture of illegal guns.

So, can you cite an elected official who's actually stated that their goal is elimination of private gun ownership? Because what I'm hearing when I hear politicians talking about gun control measures they want to adopt, it's more shit like strengthening background checks, red flag laws specifically aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of those with bad intent, or limiting the sale of certain guns and certain accessories, and when the last one happens, it always grandfathers in guns that have already been purchased. Or is the fact that the government passed a law criminalising possession of Tommy Guns a bit less than a century ago enough proof that this is all gun control advocates want?

Funny thing about that - countries that have taken steps to limit the number of guns in private hands don’t seem to be terrorized by gangs of thugs toting fully automatic submachine guns.

Why would they when cheaper guns are available?

Do you know how to build a gun? From sctatch?

I know I could. I know at least a dozen guys who could. It is NOT rocket science. Any good machinist could build a gun - and the simplest is a sub-gun. Look at the complexity of a Bren, a Sten, a Mac10 or M2 sub gun. They contain the fewest pieces of any repeater. A revolver is by comparison a much harder build requiring much more complicated, specialized machine tooling.
