Little question of that.
No, you are the tard thus the reason you think other people are tard.
On this fact we can be certain

You think I would be all over WASTING TIME checking and re- checking the law abiding???

Nope.

In cases where we’re allowing people to use technology specifically designed to punch holes in living things to make them not be living things anymore, keeping some sort of eye on the law abiding is vital to make sure they actually are the good ones who can actually be trusted to handle such a responsibility. Because, funny thing, some people with bad intent can get past the background check with ease. Especially if the laws on guns are lax. Last year, Farhan Towhid killed his entire family with a gun he bought specifically for that task. And since he had no record and checking to make sure he wasn’t mentally ill was as easy as checking the wrong box on a form, there’s a reason some oversight to make sure you’re fit to use that gun is important.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. What I want is less gun violence.
I know the sentiment to which you’re referring. I also know that Einstein never said it.
You know more about background checks in the US than I do - how much does each one cost the gun purchaser?

You are not going to get less gun violence by looking where the problem is not.
NICS checks cost the taxpayers about 40 million a year.
