Personally, I read it as an internal dispute over blame for the failures of the war thusfar. Let's imagine that russia, againts all odds, wins something in ukraine. Someone will still need to be responsible for all that was lost. Can't be putin. Even in the dreamland putin regime change scenario..it still wouldn't be putin. There's no money shot until all gains, real or imagined, are solidified under a singular cult of personality...... and all loss is offloaded onto another.

I love when Russia simps keep saying Russia can just draft more Troops. Then we remind them that you still need to arm and supply those troops. It's like they think war is an RTS and logistics don't exist and if they are pointing to China to make with the equipment. Chinese equipment is notoriously poor quality and unreliable if China even delivers it with playing diplomatic games because as much as China dislikes NATO they love Western markets and are mixed with the Russians really. And no neither China nor India will be the peacemakers either they can talk a good game but that's all it is talk.

I dislike USA hypocrisy. It likes to talk about democracy, freedom, international law. But at the same time as I quoted George Friedman here before, it acts as Empire.

A future archaeologist could have difficulty determining whether russia or the us invaded ukraine, if their primary sources about the war came from anti us commentary.
On that note, we can grant that the us sucks for purposes of elaboration. I think the whole imperial us thing is the laziest and most absurd take on a russian land grab, but lets run with it. It just so happens that, for once, the interests of the great satan actually do align with democracy, freedom, and international law. If you believe in these things and believe in the great satan ukraine is not a reason to complain about the great satan, it's a rare example of relief to be put forward as an object lesson in doing things right for a change.
It remains to be seen whether or not we'll stick with it.
