RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
And in related news, Republicans still wonder why Democrats think Donald Trump (and themselves by extension) are fascists.

Wanting to prevent future election does not make him fascist but rather run of the mill authoritarian. I would however call him fascist but it's because his maga slogan and general rhetorics which (to me at least) smacks of palingenetic ultranationalism which is main building block of Roger Griffin definition of fascism.

Yes, I know it smacks of ackchyually:

“Christians, get out and vote!” yelled Trump. “Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine! You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians!” He added, “You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”

He is literally telling us that he intends to be a dictator.

When Trump says shitty stuff, believe him.  Those are the times when he's telling the truth.  He's such a narcissist that he wants approval for the crappy things he wants to do.

At the Florida summit, hosted by conservative group Turning Point Action, Trump promised that if he wins in November, he would “once again appoint rock-solid conservative judges who will protect religious liberty.”

After repeating his usual unfounded claims about mail-in voting, Trump launched into an appeal directed at Christian voters.

Does not sound suspicious at all.  Dodgy

People who have  tiniest shred of decency should stop supporting him after hearing this. Though I suppose anyone decent already didn't.

Yep, decent people stopped supporting him in 2015.

His birtherism well before then told me he was a racist. I never supported him but his birtherism confirmed that antipathy.

I mean, by that measure...I've thought he was an asshole since I became aware of his existence last century.

I've despised Trump since 2011 when I've watched the documentary "You've Been Trumped"
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Not Trump explicitly, but people in his orbit are trying to float the idea that Kamala Harris is not 'a natural born citizen'.

I'm no geographical whiz, but I'm reasonably sure that Oakland, California is 'within the borders and jurisdiction of the United States'.

Summary of Trump's latest speech in Minnesota:

1. Said he will now behave “worse” than he did before.

2. Talked about his friend “the late great Hannibal Lecter.”

3. Said he hits golf balls really hard and he taught a pro-golfer new tricks.

4. Said Margaret Thatcher never laughed like Kamala Harris.

5. Lied about his crowd sizes over and over.

6. Said he is like Elvis but “with no guitar.”

7. Said he wants to start a fight league for professional UFC fighters to attack migrants.

8. Asked people if they remembered Hunter Biden’s laptop.

9. Said Kamala Harris is a lunatic and she can only beat him if she cheats.

10. Said San Francisco is communist.
