Is anything evil in a world with no deity? If yes, by what standard? What makes you know something is evil?

Lol, you think there are moral laws of the universe.
Nothing is objectively wrong. If morality were objective, then there would be only one morality in the world. You mention raping kids, which is actually immoral in secular societies, while it is fine in theocracies and more religious places like red states where child marriage is frequently legal.
Raping kids is bad in secular humanist societies because their morality is based on human emotions, and thus it is wrong to rape someone because that person is suffering, which is not the viewpoint in religious societies.
AngelThMan Wrote:In an atheistic world, is anything good or evil
There is no such thing as an atheistic world.
Try to get this in your head: atheism is not a philosophy, it is not an ideology, therefore doesn't put out any rules. Atheism is simply an answer to one question - is there a god or not.
Different topic. Red herring. Not intersted

That’s not your original question. Your original question HAS been answered (multiple times), you knuckle-dragging throwback.

Just type one in each time you repeat your tedious question.
Great. You can answer questions. Now tell me by what standard. What standard are you appealing to to say murder is evil in a universe with no deity The same as I would in a universe with no mermaids.
Now....
If there's a God, nothing is objectively right or wrong or evil.
Do you agree?
So, can you answer a question, your posts suggest not.

Depends on the atheist, right? An atheist who’s a moral realist will tell you that things are right or wrong by objective standards. Which is to say that they purport to report a fact about the object of moral inquiry, and accurately report that fact. If they’re a subjectivist, they’ll say by subjective standards. Which is to say they may purport to report a fact about the object of moral inquiry…but instead of accurately reporting that fact they mistakenly but still quite accurately report some fact about the moral subject making the inquiry.
If things are -actually- right or wrong because of some fact about a god -an alleged moral subject - rather than because of some fact about the thing itself…then they would fall into the second category. Moral subjectivism. I suppose the thing you need to figure out is whether you agree with the moral subjectivists for god based reasons or the moral realist for object based reasons.
There are other ideas about morality but it seems like so far it’s a dispute between these two.

This person seems unaware of what a red herring is, as nothing here was distracting from the point and everything was completely on topic.

There’s a good chance we’re dealing with someone whose ideas about morality are jingoistic sloganeering. If all you knew about the subject was that god means things are right or wrong and atheism means nothing is right or wrong you could watch a person answer your questions all day in real time and not realize that’s what was happening.
How does an atheist who’s a moral realist know what’s right or wrong? The same way a theist who’s a moral realist knows what’s right or wrong. Rightly or wrongly. By what standards? The same standards. Validly or invalidly.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies.
