But seriously, I think your fears are unfounded. Being a Freemason or in any other order, does not mean that you are only that and not thinking of yourself as a citizen of a country also. At least here in Finland, all organizations are under a law, and must present their protocols from meetings. The only thing kept hidden is the rituals and they have absolutely nothing to do with political, financial or religious issues.

Well, obviously, but I guess there were various incidents in the past that made people think different.
I'm not sure what kind of an influence masons had in finland, but they were very active amongst the young Turks movement in the Ottoman empire of the old.
They weren't really liked amongst the parliament of the Turkish republic either. Bashbugh Atatürk could not do anything without the support of the people, and the support of the parliament.
