Soul creation

RE: Soul creation
Drich Wrote:I did not answer because I thought it was self evident.

You think it's self-evident that people do not dream up a god who gives a purpose to their suffering?

Drich Wrote:for not all believers are destitute.

I'm not sure why you said this, because I never claimed otherwise.

Drich Wrote:I did not belittle your question you asked how did I know what I was saying was true. I reference the bible verse I left in my orginal post to you. nothing more nothing less.

Trailing off with an ellipsis in the middle it implies that what you're saying is obvious or redundant, thus belittling the question being asked. For the sake of tranquility, however, I will give you the benefit of the doubt, because emotions are hard to convey with plain text.

Drich Wrote:You guys read far too much into my posts. If i was as full of venom as you believe me to be then why am I here? Why do i even take the time to do this? I have a family and a business to run. What would be my end, what do i get? sharky responses???

To gain an inflated sense of self-worth?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

If the poor dreamed up God to escape destitution, then would it not stand to reason the rich would not 'need' the poor man's god?

It was redundant that is why I did not take the time to retype the whole quote, but there wasn't anything negitive applied here

..And with this I do what? everything that is said here stays here. I only speak to given queries I don't even assoicate answers given here to indivusal people. I only address the question set before me. Each question is addressed on it's own merrit.

I assure you my 'worth' is not tied to anything I say or do here. This is one of many tasks set before me. It is something that has to be done. Nothing more nothing less.

Posting topical scriptural references is usually ok, but I see no relevance here.

I completely disagree. Drich answered the diversory points in the OP. It's not Drichs fault that the OP digressed into cheap point scoring.

Is that so? I fail to see the connection between the origin or nature of souls and the relationship between wealth and access to heaven.

Then again, I don't claim to be a biblical scholar. On the other hand, I *can* read.

@Drich - incidentally, since you've not bothered to comment on my polite query, I can only assume that your scriptural reference was a thinly veiled attept to proselytize. You know better than that. Knock it off.

If I fail to respond one of two things happened. I did not see it or 2 I did not see a reason to respond.

the framing of questions is irrelevent. If there is an oppertunity to answer a biblical based question or general query about the known nature of God i will do so. If you simply want to argue then I will most likly pass on your invitation. even if it is framed in a polite querry.
I am not here to argue for the sake of argueing.

It wasn't intended to start an argument. It was a moderator's query to allow you to connect the dots between your scriptural quote and the question you were responding to.

The point here, which appears to have eluded you, is that quoting scripture as an answer to a question that was NOT asked is frowned upon here.

I am quite aware of why you're here, which is precisely why your scriptural quotes are expected to be topical.

Now this is more like it. I was hoping for a Motown reference. A video is even better.

RE: Soul creation
So, apart from very vague generalities, you cannot tell me how the most important part of you comes to be, your immortal soul, which is supposed to last billions and billions of years in heaven after your mortal body returns to dust. What is the whole point of your religion if you cannot explain even this very basic thing? How are you going to enjoy heaven (or suffer in hell)? What is a soul anyway? How it is made, how does it comes into existence? Why are souls different (good/bad/smart/dumb/beyond any hope) and what makes them so? Your whole religion idea is based on the immortality of the soul of which you have not the foggiest idea what and how and why it is. Pathetic.
I have no problem sharing a common ancestor with the apes; it's being related to some people that bothers me.

Wasting your breath. Your very reasonable attack on what they purport to know diminishes the certainty they feel in the bible not one iota. Compared to them, you have nothing .. just opinions and science. They have the word of God in writing. It doesn't really matter if they don't understand its internal inconsistencies. They just assume God knows and that's good enough for the girls they go with.

Did you read the OP? Has ask 1 question in 3 different ways all pertaining to the placement of souls. One of the side bars questions pertained to why some souls had it better than others. more over why were some born poor and other born wealthy..

What My verse was attemting to show was that just because a fool judges a wealthy man more fortuniate, does not mean he infact is more fortunate in God's eyes. for according to the verse the rich man has far more obsticals to over come than the poor man. This means it is a greater blessing spiritually speaking to be born poor. so why are some born poor? Because God decided to give them a gift He did not impart on the rich.

Do you have anyother scripturally based questions of my quoted passages?
