Who cares? They will die. They will all die. Every last one of them will weaken, their resolve fading with age until they can no longer stand. Their faculties will desert them to such an extent it pains their children to be around them. It will become more and more evident that they are a fossil of an age best left behind serving only as a reminder of what must never return. They will be left in a bed, hospitalized and there, slowly but surely there they will crumble. Their prayers for salvation unheeded, the faint feeling of a regret passing through their thoroughly indoctrinated minds as the lights flicker and disappear altogether. Their memory will be as dust, scattered to the four winds and dissipating just as quickly. Gone, forgotten, erased.

It is a fate time has in store for all of us. Those who seek to halt the march of progress forever will be bitterly disappointed.
There will be a time when religion has vanished altogether thanks to humanities collective mentality simply growing out of it, it is inevitable. However, none of us will be around to see it.

The problem is that people today take tradition's word for it that their religion is true, ignoring the frightening level of ignorance which the originator of the tradition was subject to. No one believes in Zeus or Ra anymore. Why? Well, becasue there is no reason to believe in them. So why are the religions that persist more valid? The people who worshipped the sun were wrong to think it was a god, but at least the sun exists! And it provides energy to sustain our planet! About the most sensible religion out there (in terms of the validity of its diety, anyway), and it still fails...
