touche

But if you would buy meat at the supermarket, would you be capable to cook your own lasagne?

I'm still not seeing the relevance Germans.

It's cheaper to buy a ready meal in the frozen section than all of the ingredients needed to make a lasagne on my own. What part of that do you not get?

With access to the internet, it's possible to cook anything you might have the ingredients to make. As Nap said, a lot of people (myself included) have to live on a very limited budget, or maybe they don't have time in their busy schedules to bother with cooking.

I'm not wrong. I think every person living in the UK would testify to that. Considering this is a story about meat in the UK, how the fuck am I wrong.

Which isn't the UK...

I could buy some carrots, potatoes, onions, beef, rice and other at between 5-10 euros.

With it I can cook enought meals for 2-3 days.

Are people who regularly eat frozen dinners known for their discerning tastes?

This fucking says it all.

According to latest exchange figures, 5-10 euros is roughly equivalent to between £4.23 and £8.49 ($6.68 and $13.36 US). Taking Fr00d's figure of 79p (0.93 euro, $1.25 US) as a base, I could buy between 5 and 10 (nearly 11) days worth of meals. That's not even factoring in such things as BOGOFF deals (Buy One Get One For Free) or similar multipurchase discounts, which could also apply to the fresh article of course. Then comes the question of how long the food can be stored without spoiling, time and energy spent cooking etc. People in a similar situation to myself simply cannot afford to buy fresh food in bulk all the time. Also, since I have to purchase electricity in the form of pay-as-you-go credit on an electronic key, there are occasions when I simply don't have the power to run my stove for any length of time.

None of this means that I cannot cook, or that I prefer not to cook. It's just that all too often I have the choice either to opt for convenience or takeaway food, or go without.
