How can a god, that apparently loves everyone, allow this kind of thing to happen?

My point was that your thoughts are wrong sometimes and perhaps you should re-think that confidence you feel.

Quote:Fancy that, you can cure something you can't see (like cancer) with prayer, but you can't heal amputees. I wonder why....
One of your above statements is wrong and/or a lie.

Quote:I thought god did everything?
Eh, the question mark keeps me from proclaiming this a lie, so instead I'll just call it disingenious.

So you are just going to pick on the words I used instead of the actual point, ok....
I really didn't think it needed clarifying but apparently it does. When I said 'something you can't see' I didn't literally mean, something that is impossible to see. I used cancer as an example because sometimes cancer regresses for no apparent reason, or no reason that the doctors can discover. As a result of not having an answer, theists often point to god and claim a miracle.

I used the example of the amputee because it is something very obvious. There has been no documented cases of human limbs growing back, which would be weird if god did actually heal people. He loads and loads of illnesses but doesn't cure amputees? Doesn't he love them? Whats he got against amputees?

Now that is explained, please go troll somewhere else.

You think people can't see cancer too, and?

And what does this have to do with your god being a sadistic cunt?

LOL, you still haven't established the facts.
First, you have to prove god exists and that it is mine.
Then you have to prove that it is sadistic.

You said "OK" when I told you to get to work, so do you have anything yet?

There's a diference between regeneration and healing, do you know what that is?

No, I actually said " there are other gods than yours...ok."

Please don't misquote me in future, it is extremely rude, even for you.

But.... You win, I can't prove your god exists.

I guess we will just both have to be atheists from now on.

Yes I do, but I don't see how that is relevant to an all powerful god

The part where it's claimed that it means able to do anything.

(October 23, 2013 at 6:48 pm)Rationalman Wrote: I'm not sure what you mean by that, can you give me some examples of things that can't be done by using power or that isn't a function of power. Would you mind defining power for me as well.
A crossword puzzle. Loving someone.

Biblically, the term is usually translated almighty, and does not mean able to do anything:

Matt 26
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

So, regardless of your take on the term, the Bible does not use it that way.

(October 23, 2013 at 7:33 pm)Faith No More Wrote: That doesn't even make sense.

From google...

Quote:pow·er
ˈpou(-ə)r/
noun
1.
the ability to do something or act in a particular way, esp. as a faculty or quality.

So, by saying "able to do anything which is a function of power," you're really saying "able to do anything which is the function of the ability to do something."

It's total nonsense and just an attempt to obfuscate what is meant by "all-powerful."
So, god is not capable of creating us in heaven as "full" as if we lived this life and went to heaven, which contradicts your previous comment that the bible describes god as all-powefful.
Actually I misspoke - the term is usually translated as almighty.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/might?s=t
Quote:1. physical strength: He swung with all his might.

2. superior power or strength; force: the theory that might makes right.

3. power or ability to do or accomplish; capacity: the might of the ballot box.
My position makes sense using the first or second definition. Your position is supported by the third. The question, then, is which does the Bible use?

Note above the passage from Gethsemane. Jesus specifically asks for salvation to be accomplished in a way other than the cross if that is possible. As he went to the cross, it apparently wasn't possible. So, the Bible does not portray God as able to do anything.

OK

Now dumbass, let's talk some more about misquoting, mmm'kay?

Of course not... Jerkoff
Maybe you should see how it's relevant to your post instead. Undecided

So basically you don't understand what the word means.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
