The Bible does NOT ban masturbation..another Christian lie

RE: The Bible does NOT ban masturbation..another Christian lie
Quote:Why can't he have a spiritually rich and fulfilled life... AND choke the chicken from time to time?
Quote:Every time you do you will boast your animal/carnal nature and diminish spiritual and blissful nature that's all that really happens. The same goes if you gorge yourself on food get drunk take drugs or indulge yourself in whatever.
Nah. I find the opposite is true.
Quote:I mean, even when I was a repressed teenager and was cleaning the pipes 5 times a day it still wasn't noticeably cutting into the time I spent "doing good for others"
Quote:If you're a mess on the inside you will be a mess on the outside as well. The inner reality can define the outer reality. An addiction to various physical pleasures can cause this of course.

Who said I was a mess? I think it was rather healthy. Suppressing it out of some vague sense of randomized guilt, now THAT would make me a mess.

But, very surprising, you did not answer my question SOC! Let me restate it.

Quote:Ok, lets see how honest we're going to get with each other here. I last fapped, well, about 30 mins ago. Previous to that, the day before yesterday.

Sword of Christ, bearing in mind that the bible tells us to confess our sins, that bearing false witness is a sin and that pride-fulness in our own virtue is a grave sin, when did you last masturbate. How honest are you feeling...

I'd really like to know...
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken."

I remember reading that a survey was done and the results were that hardcore Christians masturbate and watch porn just as much as anyone else. The difference is that they feel guilty about it, and are also highly hypocritical claiming that they don't. Everyone ends up thinking they are the only one doing it.

I'd have thought that if you don't masturbate as a teenage boy, you'll just end up having a wet dream after a while. Christians don't have a different anatomy to the rest of us.

Sure we do. Wait and see.

Come on sword of christ. Tell these atheists, in front of God and everyone, that you don't masturbate. Knowing that you know that bearing false witness before god just to make a debate point would be a terrible and hypocritical sin, prideful and vain, I'm willing to believe that what you say will be the truth.

When did you last masturbate SOC? Or have you never.

Some think they have sex with Jesus, from: http://www.xfamily.org/index.php/Loving_Jesus

Quote:
"(Jesus speaking) I am really there fucking you, and I really do fill your body with My penis and My seeds. I let you experience this and I have manifested Myself to you in this physical reaction that you've felt in your body."

The more carnal pleasure you have the more of it you will want/become accustomed to having and so you feel the compulsion that has to be fulfilled. This applies to just about everything that gives provides you with any kind of hit not that you will be able to avoid this unless you're a monk or something.

Quote:Who said I was a mess?

I didn't say you were. People can become addicted and have compulsions to wordly pleasures but God the spiritual side of life is a good inoculation against the excesses some people can end up getting into. Asceticism is found in all religious traditions for this reason.

Quote: I think it was rather healthy. Suppressing it out of some vague sense of randomized guilt, now THAT would make me a mess.

Not guilt just good basic self discipline, all religions teach it.

You're forgiven for sin and you will sin so that's not an issue, Christianity isn't about trying to impress God to get into heaven. But universal teachings of ascetic practice will bring out your spiritual side a bit more, will get you a little closer to God and all that business. This results in an entirely different kind of pleasure.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Hmmm. It seems a simple enough question to me, but you appear to have prevaricated somewhat.

Granted that we all accept that christians are not perfect (I should know), and that you are promoting not masturbating as a good way to improve your spirituality etc, I think its a germane question to ask when was the last time you masturbated.

Free tony seems to think that christians BEHAVE the same as atheists, they just hold different views on it. I'm afraid I can't refute that because as I said, I don't see masturbation as a problem. You however can.

I trust your honesty SOC. I know you won't lie before God about your own sin or virtue because you know that false wittness is a sin (probably worse than masturbating). So tell us. When did you last masturbate?

Obviously not all Atheists masturbate, and not all Christians masturbate.

The gist of it is that if you go into a Fundamentalist Church and ask if anyone watches porn, you get very few, if any, hands raised. However the online statistics don't support this. Here is the link: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn16...vvLULRB9D0

To quote the article "However, there are some trends to be seen in the data. Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds"

and

"Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by," Edelman says.

I don't know I don't keep a calendar of it. Why would you go around asking people questions like that? I wouldn't ask you.

It depends if you're interested in ascetic practice or not. But everyone can benefit from a little bit of it.

Quite a long while ago but I can't pinpoint the date. Never you mind anyway.
