It's so easy to let that evil god of yours off the hook by saying that, isn't it?

Problem is, saying so doesn't make it true.

If you write it down, though...

It's still shite. Smile

@JesusLover1

I can't help but get the feeling that you are actually being serious. So I want to reiterate that you only believe the things you believe because of where and when you were born. They are stories designed and optimized for thousands of years to be believed, but that does not make them true. You don't have to be afraid of hell, it's an insideous fairytale.

Hey!

I'm offended that you would talk to me like that!

Uttering a prayer or saying a few words, isn't 'converting.' Becoming spiritual and/or religious, or leaving one's faith completely, is a process. Either side of the fence takes a lot of self reflection and consideration.

I was a Christian my whole life. Leaving the faith was one of the most arduous processes I've ever gone through. Lots of pain and tears. There are even some days, I miss fragments of that 'old life.' But, I couldn't live a lie anymore.

OP, you might mean well, but really, you are going about it the wrong way. No one needs to be ''saved.'' You don't know truth, anymore than I do.

I don't think it would be possible to convert me. I'd just think I had complete mad the moment I even entertained the idea.

I sometimes miss the prayers. The traditions. The holiday rituals. Not social, in any way. I was always pretty private about my faith, and perhaps, I miss that solace I found in a fantasy.

It took me a VERY long time to not only accept that what I believed was not based on truth, but it took me a long time, to let it go. Even when I knew, it wasn't truth., it still took me some time.

When you are brought up from the time you can talk, as a kid, in the faith (any faith/religion)--life without that crutch is very scary. But, I tell myself, if there is a god, ''it'' is nothing like I knew. Or I was taught.

If he doesn't exist, I'm ok with that, too. It's in letting go of having to know, where I finally found peace in being Agnostic.

I sometimes miss though, losing myself in a fantasy. But, I would never go back. I'm at peace now, but my point in commenting to the OP, was...it's a long ass process. lol :p

Assuming this isn't a Poe (I'm on the fence at this point), I can only assume this is some kind of fucked up homeschool assignment with two proud parents urging the poor bastard on: Show those atheists what's what!

If I had ever come close to fucking up my kids like this, I would hope that someone would have shot me in the face. Twice.
