Marriage discrimination struck down in Arkansas.

I suspect the majority of theists agree with you. Yet, I do wonder if it is possible for the majority of theists to sway their opinion in years to come, because weather they like it or not gay marriage is only going to continue to be more and more accepted.

In another 20-30 years gay marriage will be forgotten and we will have moved on to some other discrimination battle.

We should not even be battling it right now.

There were always people during the times of slavery and even later those who knew that it was wrong to own slaves and deny rights to black people.

It is not different than today with homosexuals and same-sex marriage.

Why go through an unnecessary battle when it is already obvious that same-sex marriage should be legal?

I just think some of you guys need to be reminded every so often that there's others who have different view points from the ones some of you have. The jousting back and forth is fine, but when debates deteriorate to personal attacks and name calling over differences of opinions no one can claim tolerance. If you disagree with me that's fine. There's no way that I expect my views to be accepted by the majority here. That's the nature of this forum. I have no problem with it. I do think we could debate issues without a lot of the hostility over disagreements though. But, I can handle that too.

Well, I will point out that thus far all you've done is made assertions about bodily mechanics, without any attempt to back them up, as a debate would entail.

And actually, after thinking a little more, I realized how bothersome it is to see you attempting to reduce the entirety of gay relationships down to just "anal sex." It's rather disingenuous; after all, it's an argument that only applies at all to half of the issue, at most. Not to mention that gay relationships aren't exclusively about sex any more than hetero ones are, or that anal sex isn't required for gay sex at all, or that straight people have anal sex too...

Lots of issues here.

I really hope it is forgotten in 20-30 years.
In the same sense that, in most areas, interracial marriage is 'forgotten' because no one even gives it a second thought when they see it.

I tolerate you as well for having the views that you embrace, which also means I don't have to like or agree with your views either....same as with me, it doesn't mean I have to be silent when we disagree, (a fact you better get used to in life because not everybody is going to toe the line with your world view)....and that means as well that you're not going to be automatically rationally justified in having the views which you embrace. But, as has been shown, your side is not the most tolerant of opposing views and opinions.

When we start seriously considering the idea of making marriage illegal for heterosexuals or Christians, then you have the right to cry 'intolerance'. The fact that this isn't a thing that even the most anti-Christian among us would ever consider doing to you is a measure of which side is more tolerant.

This isn't just a difference of opinions. This is you and people like you actively trying to make a class of people inferior under the law, and when you peel away all of the bogus justifications, it's ultimately for no reason other than you hate them and want to spite them. Nobody on the other side is advocating doing the same thing to you.
You want to actually hurt people, while insisting that are entitled to not have your feelings hurt. Your opinion not deserve tolerance, and you shouldn't expect it.

Poor dumb bastards.

The first state in the country to recognize marriage equality in America has, by far, the lowest divorce rate in America, and it has only gone down in the ten years since that happened. Most of the states which have marriage equality today are states which are in the bottom-half in divorce ratings. 9 of the 12 states with the lowest divorce rates recognize marriage equality. On the other side of the coin, there is just as significant correlation between states that have the highest divorce rates and states with under 40% support for equality.

To put it mildly, all of the data suggests that you're full of shit.

I really have no time to explain my position on this "marriage equality" bullcrap.
I merely have stated that this "marriage" that they are proposing is not even marriage.
Its merely another ploy of the liberal, rootless cosmopolitan mindset to redefine social institutions and traditions. Lets re-define everything to suit the purposes of minorities.
Sounds to me like the dictatorship of minorities such as the homosexuals over the majority of normal people.

Nonsense.

How does two men or two women who love each other and getting married invalidate anyone's straight marriage?

Does two unmarried women or two unmarried men having sex invalidate your own sexual experiences?

Yeah, I know mehmet. Just like those damn blacks and their wanting to go to the same schools as the white kids, right? Or drink out of the same water fountains. Just the minorities being cosmopolitan dictators.

Equal protection under the law works for everyone, not just the ones that you don't hate.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
