So, for the denominations of Christianity that don't accept sainthood (which is part of the apostle's creed), why are they wrong?

So, in your view, are both forms of Christianity, equally valid? I have no idea which version of Christianity you follow because you just state your belief as Christian. How do you feel about the idea that members of at least one Christian group won't regard you as being a real Christian? Where are the snake and mushroom smilies?
Anyone who thinks a dead jew came back to life to atone for their fucking sins is a xtian..... and they are welcome to that dishonorable title!

I've relaxed that lately, though. I still think it applies to those in positions of authority, but I'm not so sure of the laity. No one has a perfect understanding. Thank you for contributing to this topic. Where are the snake and mushroom smilies?
Most Christians see the Mormons and JWs as cults because they accept things that are not possible according to scripture, most Christians accept that the Bible (word of God) is the only prescribed doctrine. Many denominations and Christians alike interpret scriptures differently, why, you need to ask them. None of us are totally right and God knew this would happen, so this is my belief, those who seek God's will should listen to His desire of which church they should join, even if they do not believe all that particular denomination believes. If one desires to work for God as God desires and to strengthen the Kingdom, one should be able to set aside these differences for the purpose of doing God's will. God knows I have some differences with the beliefs of the Southern Baptist Church and I can accept that, because who other than God can say I'm right or wrong.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Because, ultimately, the only version of Christianity you'll ever adhere to is the one which fits your preferences, agrees with the beliefs you already have, and is convenient for you to practice. There are 2 billion Christians practicing 2 billion different religions, and all of the other 1,999,999,999 are wrong, and the only time you'll let them under your umbrella is if you need to whip out a quick argument ad populum. Which is why your faith is a complete joke. But, don't take it personally. Every believer in every religion does what you do, and they are all jokes. Quote:and the only time you'll let them under your umbrella is if you need to whip out a quick argument ad populum.Uh, Sparky, have you read the thread? I said I'll let them under my umbrella if they accept the apostles' creed. That's a pretty big umbrella. Quote:Which is why your faith is a complete joke. But, don't take it personally. Every believer in every religion does what you do, and they are all jokes. So you think most of the people who have ever lived are jokes, and you accuse me of having a small umbrella. That's some interesting logic. |
