You sound like a really bad used car salesman! It will never be too late. There is no "return" to look forward to, no grand plan to worry about and no judgement to be afraid of after death.
Unless you want to provide some EVIDENCE of your bullshit claims, quit trying to earn heaven points off me. We all know the heaven points are the only reason you're here.

So the fuck what?!? Who said sex has to be about pro-creation?!?
Sex is a recreational activity. When assholes like you quit treating it like a sacred gift from gawd, quit making it a horrible taboo and start treating it like the carnival ride it is I'll take your opinions about it as something other than BULLSHIT For fuck sake. I want to know why it's not a televised contact sport! Full contact fucking should be on right after (NFL) football.

Galaxy Driver,
Evidence is His creation. The majority of people on this planet do not question that in some way there was Intelligent Design. The complexity of this universe stemming from nothingness is complete non-sense. Many people don't want to believe in God because they don't want to culpable for their actions. Be thankful there is a God who came down as man and paid the price for our sins in full. All He asks of you is to believe. That requires faith. Jesus did live, He did die, He did resurrect, He rose back to heaven, and He is coming back soon. Don't say I didn't warn you. Friend, repent and get in the ark!
He'd do better to repent to me, CD's avenging angel.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
The typical American adult hates to spend time thinking and would rather avoid it if at all possible. If people actually engaged in some serious thinking about religious matters they would realize that all religions are just con games.
A classic example is the supposed power of faith. The New Testament swears that if a person has faith that he can simply tell trees and mountains to jump at his commands. Now that about that. If such a thing was true why would the writer tell everyone about it? Imagine the chaos with countless people doing all sorts of things. One person would move a mountain and then someone would get mad and throw it back at him. It should be evident that the writer didn't have any faith in what he wrote because he never did tell a mountain to move and have the mountain follow his commands. So just by thinking for less than a minute you can see the obvious lies because they go against basic human nature. If the writer had moved a mountain that way why would he risk other people gaining such power and competing with him? He wouldn't. He would keep the secret for himself.
The Old Testament has a lot of faults but it's more realistic than the New Testament. Sure you have the genocides and racism and cruelty and vicious threats but it's skimpy on wild and unrealistic promises. It tends to stick to the "Obey or I'll kick your ass" philosophy.
The New Testament is loaded with outrageous promises, as well as some nasty threats. The New Testament hasn't delivered on its wild promises and its threats are empty rants.
Think for yourself and you might reach a similar conclusion. Of course you can always stick your finger in a live electric socket to stop from thinking.
“If you have faith even the size of a mustard seed, you can command the mountain to move.“
- “Ok. Mountain: land on my enemy's head. Hey, nothing happened!“
“You don't have enough faith. Repent some more.“
It's not hard to spot the con.

The con is in telling others some "secret". You see it everyday on tv and in ads for inside knowledge about some new technology that will change the world and make you rich if you invest right now. Such things go against human nature because if I, for one, knew something like that I would keep it for myself and my immediate circle. I wouldn't blab about it to the world unless I was trying to run up the stock price and cash out before the scheme collapsed. Religions have that business model down to a tee.

Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning." Matt 19:8.
I always laugh, when people talk about the concessions god had to make. It's pretty hard to square the god who'll turn a woman to salt for disobeying him in the tiniest of ways, annihilate entire cities because they weren't obeying him, and destroy nearly all life on the planet because one species wasn't doing what he said, with this hand wringing, conciliatory god who, apparently, can't do shit without working within human reality. He's god, Rev! He can get things done without first checking with his goddamn supervisor!
It's almost as if all those high flying old testament stories were meant to be told in past tense where nobody could check on the truth of them, and the new testament authors suddenly found themselves having to cover for the fact that they couldn't produce that god by retconning in this weaker version...
Quote:Secondly just because you say something is bull poopie doesn't mean it should be dismissed.
You're right: the paragraphs after I called it bullshit are why it should be dismissed. Did you forget about those, or is it just easier to pretend all I did was call your argument a name?
Quote: We have a very narrow view of human history and slavery was a way of life for centuries. In fact in some ways if you work for an employer you too are under the authority and control of another person.
Again, I don't have to look to history to determine that the bible's stance on slavery is immoral; I just need to look at the instructions laid out for that in the book. No additional historical context needed.
And could you not insult my intelligence by comparing slavery to proper employment? I can leave my job at any time, I get paid, and at no point can my employer trick me into staying forever. Oh, and he can't beat me. And my children don't belong to him. Oh, he can't give me a woman like chattel...
Wow, it's almost like there's numerous differences between employment and the biblical description of slavery! hock:
Quote:Thirdly, homosexuality is not part of God's original design, neither is animal eating animal.
So when you said that it wasn't natural, you meant for us to ignore what we observe in nature when we consider that point? So, there's lots of actually natural things that aren't natural either.
So what you're actually saying is that, except for that it is natural by definition, it's not natural? Sorry Rev, but the rest of us aren't going to accept your cartoon universe where Jesus should be riding dinosaurs and carnivores don't eat meat, until you can demonstrate that this is true. Until then, words mean what they mean, and not what you want them to mean.
Quote: What God says is perverse is perverse regardless of what we think. Sorry, but He made the rules not us. If we can create our own universe then you can create your own rules.
That's not much of an argument. Why should I care what you think about who gets to make the rules? God doesn't seem to mind so much, really: you're the only one sitting here burbling about what he's in control of. I'm pretty sure he can speak for himself, if he's got a problem. In fact, I invite him to come down and let us know why he gets to make the rules for everyone, like some kind of dictator: let him make an argument for why this is so, instead of just having peons assert it by fiat. Because arguments from authority mean jack shit to me, especially when it's borrowed authority.
Any time, god. Any time.

Argument from numbers. Congratulations. You just made Michael Jackson the single greatest recording artist in history. After all, he is the most popular.

Fuck you. I am completely culpable for my own actions. The difference between you and me is that if I hurt someone I have to seek their forgiveness of the transgression. If you hurt someone, all you have to do is pray to your imaginary sky-fairy. Who's trying to avoid culpability here?!?

Yep. Been hearing that my whole life. That's because you christers have been spouting it for nearly 2000 years. Your gawd-boy was supposed to return before the people alive when he allegedly lived all died off. Unless you're gonna claim there are some really old-assed Jewish guys out there somewhere you're hypothesis is royally fucked.

Yes, that's what your warnings sound like.

Yeah that always reminds me of the way a car sales team works. The guy you're actually talking to -Jesus- would just love to get you that price with everything you want on the car. But he has to get approval for the sale from his supervisor. As much as he wants to help you out, what can he do? He's not the boss. Harder to make that work when the same guy is playing both parts.
