What a bunch of fucking lunatics.
You know what you are, you're a scoffer, that's what you are.
Read Revelations again, using Barbara Theiling's code. You'll come across the account of Jesus removing a thorn from the paw of a Tyranasaurus Rex. Jesus and Rex were inseparable, with Rex protecting Jesus.Sadly,Judas was a jealous prick and poisoned Rex.
Fantastically absurd? Not at all,in context with the rest of the Bible. I reckon it wouldn't be all that hard to Poe a fundie with that claim. (I'm thinking of a morbidly obese hysteric from 'Wife Swap')

Wouldn't the sudden mixing of such a massive quantity of fresh water (from the "rains from Heaven") mixing with the salt water of the sea effectively kill off all fish, both fresh water and salt water?
Sorry, I couldn't help it. The sea might not have been as salty then.
Here is an article on the subject of dinosaurs and the Bible:

A kindly word of advise if I may Theo.
If you wish to maintain any sort of credibility on this site then you would do well to not quote articles from AIG.
Since AIG is well recognised as a steaming pile of wishful thinking horseshit by a bunch of cretinous half-wits with
the scientific credentials of a dead Axalotl.
OK? thanks, bye.

@Zen
I'm impressed. ; 'axelotl' and in context. I'd have been even more impressed had you spelled it correctly. (it's 'axolotl')
One is a bronze age goat herder, with a limited world view and non existent understanding of international geography. There is a flood, which covers the land as far as one can see. One assumes the entire world is covered with water. Possibly why flood myths are common all over the world.
As a bronze age rural person,my knowledge of the world diversity of fauna is also a bit limited. It therefore seems perfectly reasonable to me to think that every species in existence lives within walking distance from Noah's hovel and will fit into a boat. 450 (long) X75 (high)X 45 feet.(wide) -plus the several thousand tons of food needed to feed them.(including fresh meat for the carnivors ).
From what I can see, literalist believers have barely changed in over 3000 years.

Possible explanations for the flood story.....

Tentative admittedly, but much more plausible than the bible.

That is exactly what I thought too since our history is full of flood myths from all over the world. It makes more sense to think that these were local floods that from the perspective of the author was considered a global flood since his view of the size and breadth of the world was limited.

"The Wizard of Oz" is more plausible than the Bible! I'd believe that monkeys can fly, tin men can come to life and scarecrows can dance before I'd believe bullshit like the story of Noah's Ark or Jesus rising up from the dead.

When your whole world is pretty much the distance you can walk in a day, a flood on the scale of the Black Sea innundation would basically represent a global event.

And add to that the exaggeration that's bound to happen as the folk tale is passed on orally over the generations. Heck, even now in our modern age with snopes readily available, glurge stories still get passed around the internet. These stories might have been works of fiction or vaguely related to some real event.

This is exactly right! These biblical tales were passed down orally for many generations before they were finally written down. And once they were written down they had to be copied by hand. And the copies were copied.... and those copies were copied.... and then they were translated numerous times before finally being translated into a form of English that we would not understand today. Eventually, it was translated into modern English. So today's Bible is a translation of a translation of a translation of a translation of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of an oral story that was passed down through numerous story tellers. You couldn't have a grocery list go through that many tellings, copies and translations without having some big changes in the dinner menu! And people believe this crap absolutely? Incredible....
