Technically it should, but religious people have this amazing ability of censoring out the parts of reality that don't fit into their beliefs. As in, most of it.

Professor: Catholics are a Devil cult.
Professor: I follow true Christianity as put forth in the Bible.

Observer: ummm...Catholics compiled and edited the Bible at the Council of Nicea.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

I have heard of instances where tiny children go to their first confession (with no significant sins to report obviously), but the priest isn't satisfied until he makes the children cry. Apparently that is considered a successful confession.

I remember being scared by the stories about the end times as a child. I used to worry that I was the anti-Christ, or that I had committed the unforgivable sin. My family was Episcopalian, and we rarely went to church.

The worst of all is scrupulosity. That is religious OCD. The compulsive praying and rituals probably exacerbate this tendency.

That's just appaling. What a disgusting idea. An adult man has to make a child cry for his satisfaction, truly, a victory of a great scale.

I consider it guilt tripping and a form of psychological abuse.

I was in a state of panic after reading the Apocalypse. It's nightmare fuel.

Here is the deal- Christianity pre-dates Catholicism by over 300 years including the books of the bible.
The devil saw he could not kill Christianity by persecution, so he undermined it from the top.

Constantine was inspired (by the pitchfork bearing- horned one) to declare Christianity the religion of the empire, the pagan special dates were re-badged, priests and bishops became part of the system.
True Christianity had to go underground and were called "Heretics".
Catholicism is at it's core (the mass) a sacrifice ceremony which adherents believe (participating in) cleanses them (till the next mass anyway).
It cleverly uses Christian jargon but replaces the meanings with BS.

You might be happy to know that this pope is the last one ever.

He is an agent of satan (as all of them have been) and will be a partner with the Antichrist in their final deception.
I am telling you ahead of time.

Catholicism IS christianity, and it was the original church. Satan doesn't need help destroying christianity. It destroys itsself over time by prving itsself to be far from enlightened.

So, what you're saying is that the bible has been tampered with by Satan. Great: you now have absolutely no basis for any of your beliefs as a christian, as you cannot separate those parts of the bible which were devil-influenced, and which ones were not.

Good job: you've just cast your entire religion into doubt.

Just like you were telling us the rapture was going to happen last year. Your lack of self awareness is astounding; do you even recognize yourself in mirrors?

[...]

A priest told my brother once during confession, when he was 8, or 9 years old, that his mother was a pig-herder, raising him like a pig, for not taking children to church every Sunday. Needless to say - both my brother and I are now atheists and hate priests, with all our hearts. I'll never understand why parents send their children into dark closets with weird old f*cks, in denial about their own sexuality - and everything else, for that matter. Smacks of child abuse/neglect to me...

If I ever snap and go psychotic - priests better watch their backs...

No Esq, the text have largely not been tampered with (except for the 10 commandments where the catholic bible deleted the commandment to make no images to bow down to, and split the commandment to not covet into two commandments to cover their lie).

What they did is gloss over texts which contradict their teachings (like " In the last days some will DEPART from the faith- forbidding to marry and forbidding to eat meats"..) ( or "Call no man "Father" - (in the place of God), you have one Father who is God).
The Roman universal church negates the return of Jesus and the Millennium rule which is dead ahead of us.
