The most insane defense of faith healing ever

RE: The most insane defense of faith healing ever
If the stupidity we see in the Republican party was imposed by a foreign power, it would be an act of war.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

It would mean we were already defeated, unconditionally surrendered, and are being viciously oppressed for the sake of spite during the occupation.

So,
abortion = murder = illegal
child death by neglect = will of parent+god = legal

WTF?????????????

It's not like we're only talking about treatments for life threatening illnesses, here. I would argue that those cases are just as important, but the kicker is when children die from very treatable diseases. Children are dying from pneumonia, diabetes, a fucking UTI, etc.

This is fucking murder, I cannot see a reasoning behind calling it anything else, plain and simple. It makes me so angry. Pray away the cold, that scrape on your kids knee, pray away your athlete's foot for all I care. Pray away your own cancer, you fucking nit. But don't subject a child to emotional and physical torture. Imagine what that kid with the UTI was thinking as he was dying!!! "My faith isn't strong enough, and if I hadn't asked my parents to see a doctor for some antibiotics, maybe God wouldn't be punishing me."

Fuck all of them.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I posted this in the other thread, but I think this stupidity bears repeating.

It's one of those statements that isn't even worth a rational response.

I love the implicit assumption that there isn't a rational reason to object to the unnecessary deaths of children except the christian origin of the practice. Such a ghoulish religion, no wonder it attracts such arrogant blowhards.

This is a shining example of George Carlin's proclamation of the human species: "We're fucked!"
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

Curious that none of our Christian members have posted on this thread.

Neither to criticize or condone their fellow Christians who choose faith healing as opposed to using modern medical science.

But of course, they can't. After all, there are 66 NT verses in favor of faith healing.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

So, let's get this straight:

Removing a fetus = murder
Causing death in a child = healing

In other news, gays are evil and demons are to blame for pedophilia.

No harm... right.
