I moved away from religion at a young age, even my grandfather which he passed away two month ago, his last words to me was: "If you are not a true Muslim, then who are you? A fuckin Jew or a Christian"

I honestly never cared less about religion in the past or even reading the holy books, I may heard of angels at school, that's all i remember. But was a long time ago!

I'm very sorry to hear that Sad What a revolting way for any father to treat their child.

Yes, it was one of the reasons why i denounced my religion. Plus, when i was at school the religion teachers were banning me from playing football because i didn't accept to memorize the Quran. Sometimes, they ask me to pull my hand forward and when i do they whip the palm of my hand with a rubber stick from 3 to 5 times, until i learn my lesson so next time i memorize the Quran.

Good grief, I hope you're now more autonomous and not subject to such abuse any more?

To examine the evidence regarding the spiritual being which I have encountered, also to compare the differences between the Quran and the Bible. I am sick of the people around whom they say, the bible is corrupted, and the Quran is the true word of God. SO, I decided to examine the facts. To study both religion and I was shocked when i saw some of the similarities between my story and of in the Bible. I thought it was interesting.

And you said that you knew it was an angel because Daniel describes it as an angel. You claimed to know nothing about angels until you read about it in the bible, and cited Daniel as the evidence that it was in fact an angel.

I read the book of Daniel after i encountered the spirit.

The way he described it was convincing enough. I guess the way when he said, he was wearing linen, I thought it was garment, I saw a human like leg and was silver color, Daniel says the man he saw was chrome color, almost similar.  And his face was shining as fire. For me i noticed his face was brighter than sun.

My god, how brutal, that is awful. I'm not surprised it put you off religion. If the best reason they can give you is "we'll hurt you if you don't do it" then that's a giveaway that it's nonsense.

Well, my younger brother hates me because i told him that I don't want to be a Muslim anymore. My father tried to force me into reading the Quran again, but i said NO... keep this book away from me. My mother keeps on yelling at me, you are going to hell for not praying, and not reading the Quran. That's all the abuse i get from my family these days. My older brother, he is cool, he is like me in a way, doesn't pray, or read the Quran. But he only fast Ramadan because we were told that it forgives all our sins and its the only way of salvation in Islam.

The question is why would you accept that it was an angel from god and not a hallucination? Because the Bible told you?

And I used to live in KSA, when my parents used to take me to Mekkah were Muhammd is buried and Islam was originated from. I used to observe how ignorant people as Muslims go around in circles and worship a huge cubic deity as 'Al Kabba'. TO me its a pagan act of worship. Just like in Hinduism. Rationally speaking, if God was a spiritual being as it is told in Islam and he is unseen, up in the clouds, hidden from us. Then why are we acting as morons and worshiping a cubic structural pagan deity and kissing a black stone placed at the corner. Why don't we direct out prayers to the heaven instead? till this day not a single Muslim have the answer for this question.

I think I was luckier, that my parents struck me very rarely and never over a religious issue. My mom and her parents of course remained stuck in very conservative viewpoints of the kind you found in Kentucky and Indiana back in the '50s and '60s, and I didn't measure up that well, but they didn't turn their love away from me on account of it.

I can't tell from reading your post about your family and their love states with respect to you; it's not my business to judge either you or them from the gallery. Saudi Arabia is different from the USA and I don't know much about it. Sometimes I think parents love their kids, but hit them because certain vivid religious teachings convince them the flames in hell are literally like being doused in gasoline and lit up. Of course they don't want their kid to suffer this fate, so anything they have to do to try to prevent it, including hitting, seems worthwhile. I dunno. That "spare the rod, spoil the child" thing. There's kind of a point to that saying, but it's taken waayyyy too far.  Smile

Well, at that moment i thought it was a hallucination. But, i wasn't completely sure. So i turned to the Bible for evidence. I accepted the fact it was an Angel because maybe my life was in a total mess and i needed something extraordinary to appear in my life to guide me through. Maybe I have created the image like Angel in my mind, and confused it with the nature of my reality.

Thanks ^_^ (Adds 'metapoetic' to personal lexicon)

Prince; I am sorry if I came off as hostile to you at first. I was also subjected to abuse by my mother, though she was as far from religious as it's possible to be, so I know how you feel to an extent. So I'm trusting that you're not a troll, and I apologise if I thought you were one at first.
I think perhaps there are multiple factors that were key in your experience - the religious torment you suffered making you suggestible, depression, half-waking from sleep, etc. But the cruelty you suffered is probably the biggest one. What I'm saying is, whatever you've been put through, you can beat it, and no deity or supernatural entity needs to help you through it. Only by using your own strength and the strength of those who mutally love you can you continue to grow stronger.
